WOW, from the grand, immaculately kept gardens, colourful waterlilies and impressive architecture spanning many periods, this slightly out of the way place is great for historians, families and all sorts of tourists. Explore the caves, the islands, the little church and more, what a wonderful way to spend half a day. Well recommended.

we went for a tour of the grounds and gardens, which are really something, beautiful, serene, and well worth while were then offered either a tour of the interior or a 'row boat' ride [not self propelled] around the 'lake' this turned out to be the nicest part of the day, being rowed along the sights from the boat, the... Lovely English style garden with winding canals and fascinating foot bridges. Great way to spend a warm afternoon just strolling the pathways and going on a "gondola" - really a comfortable oversized row boat- ride. The rower spoke very good English and gave a running narrative as we floated through the canals and lakes. Lovely but we did not leave... More

My wife and I had the opportunity to visit this "kingdom" while on an Elbe River cruise. The gardens were wonderful. The buildings were great. The "gondola" boat was also worth a ride. Recommend others to visit when in the area.

Situated in a very attractive town which is well worth a visit in its own right, the house, the country house of King Leopold 3rd and extensive grounds are a full day visit. The grounds are landscaped along the lines of of an English garden. The secret is to get into the house. You will have to arrange this through... More

This is one of the finest landscape parks anywhere, the scale is amazing, nothing in England can match its size, it took as we know so many elements from the English style and worked them to a grand design involving major river alterations to use natural features to complement the numerous follies, the eye is constantly marvelling as a new... Beautiful English-style park with many stunning views opening before you at the right time: you stand on the right place and then everything just clicks into place and voila, impression's there. Save yourself half a day to fully appreciate it. Parks are freely accessible throughout the day, even during night hours, but you need to pay entrance to get to... More

This is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the first European landscaped park with English-style gardens and a castle fashioned after an English country home. The park is massive covering nearly 17 square miles and featuring lakes and canals as well as impressive trees, meandering footpaths and numerous bridges. Entrance to the park is free and one of the paid attractions... More

The grounds with the various castles/houses, lakes, and gondola ride were beautiful. We could have spent much more time here if our schedule had allowed. There was so much to see. Beautiful!

My son took me here because I love gardens and it was beautiful, the lakes, the little ferries and the wonderful waterlilies. I also enjoyed the swallows and the swans on the lake and banks, the walks are really good and despite having athritis I was able to walk around enough to see a lot of different lanscapes/flowers, it is a...
