This wine tasting session was part of our recent trip with Rail Discoveries. We highly recommend . It was an enjoyable, interesting couple of hours with delicious wine on offer. Our host, Robert spoke very good English and told us lots of facts about wine production we never knew. We enjoyed it so much we bought a lot. They ship to England if you buy 12 bottles or more for 19 euros.

We stopped in for a wine tasting after walking by and my wife recognizing the name from her prior TripAdvisor research. They have a great little courtyard where we got a table and were promptly served. The owner spoke very good English and even allowed us to borrow one of her child's toys to entertain our 19 month old.

The wine tastings were offered in sweet and dry - so of course we did one of each. It paired perfectly with the cheese platter we ordered. We even bought some wine to go so that we could taste and enjoy Cochem in Belgium & Amsterdam!

Winery Haxel is a wonderful wine stop and fantastic way to slow down and smell the roses for a few hours in Cochem!

This was our first wine tasting experience and it was very educational as well as tasty. We learned about the history of the German white wine, the various dry, medium and sweet wines, how the grapes are grown, and ended up with a wine that was not on their menu, but very light, favourable and not sweet but medium. An excellent place to go and experience the joy of wine.

I called to try to make a reservation for a visit and politely asked in German if they spoke English. The lady who answered the phone basically said "nein" and hung up the phone.

I understand that this is Germany and German is spoken here but a little politeness would have been nice.

What a shame...such great reviews and we would have loved to visit.

Lovely winery ,spent a few hours in the Sun in the garden area enjoying a bottle of their delicious wine. Owners are lovely and speak good English. They also serve cold sharing plates which are lovely and well priced. Wine can be bought here at reasonable prices and well packed to carry home. Sandra made us very welcome.

This is an excellent family owned winery! There is a nice place to sit outside and enjoy a glass or two of wine and a great conversation.
