It’s worth it to see and taste all the mustards. You will think “I don’t need mustards” and still come home with three jars! They are unique
Flavors and all are wonderful!

Beautiful but short.

It is a beautiful place and we loved it. That being said it is a small area. We stayed overnight, and I wouldn’t recommend staying a whole lot more than a night or two.

This is a historic mustard factory in the main town of Cochem. We visited this place after reading about it from the city guides in our hotel. They have tasting for all their products and you can buy the ones you like. I was surprised to see a wine/ liquor of Mustard in their stores.

Historical town with wonderful architectural colourful buildings.
Had coffee and apple strudel in one of the cafe for a well earned rest after a long walk along the Rhineland.

As the morning goes on, the shops and cafes open, people appear and the atmosphere begins to buzz. Because Cochem is small you can't miss this historic location. Have a coffee and a slice of apple strudel, or enjoy a glass of the mosel wine! Not to be missed. It's picture postcard

Mustard shop with free tastings
Apr 2019 • Couples
Pre-packaged homemade mustards and chutneys are sold in this shop on Endertstrasse about a 2 minute walk past Enderttor towards the chairlift station. The shop is modern, spacious, clean, and attractive. Right inside the entrance, potential customers can browse the shelves filled with small jars of chutney mixed with mustard (5 euros) or just mustard pots for 7.50 E . Packaged in cellophane wrap with a small wooded spoon the same size mustard jar sells for 8.70E. Unfortunately, the jars were too heavy for me to consider packing them in my already heavy suitcase. Customers could taste quite a few mustard flavors at the mustard tasting bar using a small plastic spoon before choosing to buy their favorite. At the back of the shop, hot sausages were sold accompanied by mustard, but no bun for 2E.

We were disappointed that we couldn't see the mustard mill outside which was open only to tours that were given at certain times of the day - 11, 2, 3, 4 - for a 2.50E fee.

Tourists not interested in touring the mustard mill could probably save some time by just buying this mustard in a grocery shop located close to Enderttor in Cochem.

Gourmet Mustard
May 2019 • Couples
My husband and I recently visited this mustard mill. There are numerous mustards available for tasting. It was fairly crowded when we went and we didn't get a chance to try some of the other food items. Nor did we take the tour of the mustard factory (not in English but I bet it would be interesting). Also note that they only accept cash. But we got some wonderful and unique mustards. Germany has the best mustard!

Great surprise - definite return

Seated just below our car park, this truly wonderful little shop and museum have a wide offer of delicious and historic mustards, some dating to 1520!

Of course we tasted some, helped by a patient and well versed gentleman.

Highly recommend this place!

It’s a must to buy one or two ceramic jars before leaving.
