We found the visit very interesting even though we speak little German. The staff is very friendly and they gave us a sheet in English translating a part of what the guide was saying. I find it absolutely astonishing that the bunker contained replacement banknotes for the entire German economy! This is very impressive.

Very interesting sight presented during a walking tour with our guide who spoke German as well as Dutch. Highly interesting and definitely worth a visit! As the bunker is about 20 min. of walking from the city center, they offer a convenient shuttle service from the riverside and back.

We thought we would visit the bunker as we had been to The Secret Bunker in Crail, Scotland and had found that visit excellent. The Bundesbank bunker is a poor relation of the Scottish one - you stand outside a small office area to await the tour then find out that the tour and information is all in German. We did get handed a sheet in English at the start that gave the history of the bunker, but there was no attempt by the guide to include foreign visitors on the tour. If you want an excellent bunker tour then go to Scotland!

Hi Scott, sorry, we are a new museum and there are till now not enough english speaking people to offer regulary english tours through the Bundesbank-Bunker. Groups more than 12 persons book our English tours a lot. To follow an english tour at a bunker in Scotland seems of course easier especially for you Scott - but do you really find such comparison as helpful?🤔 We are sure that your Scotish Bunker is very interesting, as we are interested in all Cold War bunkers in Europe. The Bundesbank-Bunker is worldwide unique, as it was not only an Atombunker but an money deposit of 15.000.000.000 Deutsch Mark too - an absolutely top secret and crazy story... Greetings from the Moselle to Scotland 👍 Perhaps we can offer an English tour at your next visit.

Hi, all tours are in German with English or Netherlands handouts. Only for groups we offer tours in those languages. But everyone can see with his eyes during the 60 minutes guided tours through this famous underworld. Thanks for your interest- you help to support the bunker.👍

We climbed the hills around Cochem and did so for this tour too, but there is a bus that can take you up there too. Once we arrived we waited for the next tour and they kept telling us it was only in German, but they did have a one page (front and back) sheet in English so we understood some about each room. What I saw and what I could understand was very good. I will say it would be nice to add a little more historical and personal information to the sheet or give us an option to pay a little more for something. I totally understand this is likely getting more and more popular with river cruises and such. It’s an important story to tell and should be told. What all were the villagers told? What about this specific time period as it relates to the Cold War? I’d also say a direct path to the hotel to grab snacks or lunch would be nice and likely a money maker too. A bunker themed lunch. So many creative ideas. Overall, we enjoyed it and understand a little German, so could pick up on some things Also, some more fun stuff as souvenirs would be fun. Lots of creative things could be done. I’ll be talking about this tour though as it was a unique experience. Thanks again
