I really liked this fountain just on the bak side of the Cathedral. It has a typical shape, sober yet particular.

Nowadays Worms is a modern city on the Rhine where the Middle Ages, no doubt because of the world-renowned Nibelungen legend, can be felt with every step.

This fountain dates from 1921 and has a statue of Siegfried on top. It is based on designs by Adolf von Hildebrand and was a gift from Cornelius Wilhelm von Heyl, a former local leather magnate. The coats of arms of Van Heyl and his wife Sophie can be seen on the base.
Can be found near the cathedral and the Trinity churches.
This is part of the local culture so worth a stop

Significant places are a bit lost in today Worms, luckily St. Peter's Dom is so huge you can't overlook it, but the fountain Siegfriedbrunnen, between St. Peter's Dom and the Marktplatz can be easily overlooked between the modern buildings. A piece of history saved from oblivion.

Once Worms was a major influential city with an interesting history. Even the main German epic is about the events scenery of which was Worms. Here Martin Luther was excommunicated on the nationwide Reichstag. As time passed, the city lost its metropolitan greatness and shine and gained provincial plaque. But the memory of the rich historical heritage and rich past of the city continue to live. It is even somewhat artificially supported. Most of the streets somehow reminiscent of the Nibelungs – here you see the architectural style of the Nibelungs and find tower, museum and more also bearing this name. Across the city there are plenty of monuments dedicated to the heroes of the tale of the Nibelungs ring. Here and there, your eye catches different – small and big, wooden and metallic - dragons. For example at the famous fountain "Wheel of Fortune". And the main positive hero of the epic Siegfried also found a place on the fountain - of course, with his irresistible sword and defeated dragon. The fountain stands in the heart of the city, adjacent to the once rich and famous Dreifaltigkeitskirche (Trinity Church), now quite modest, and the old town hall on Hagenstrasse.
Fountain represents nothing aesthetically significant but it remains the symbol of Worms glorious past.

In the city of Worms there are several buildings, statues and so on, references to Siegfried and the Nibelung saga. This also applies to this Siegfredbrunne on the edge of the center of Worms. The first idea for this source was already around 1895, but it was not built until 1921. The Worms town hall is nearby.
