Jewish Cemetery is the oldest Jewish Cemetery in Europe, and it is located in Worms, a city in the south-west region of Germany, near Frankfurt. It is possible to visit this cemetery. In fact, when you walk around grabs, it seems that you live in...More

Word of caution: the cemetery will not be open during some Jewish holidays. We were able only to enter the outer part because our visit was in the middle of a holiday (we're not Jewish and didn't know!), but the signboard explaining the place provided...More

A very old cemetery, going back to 1059 when the first Jews were buried here . Burial stopped 1911 . Something like 2500 tombstones in the old and new sections together. Very nice . Admission free . Closed Saturdays and Jewish holidays.

We were shown the cemetery on our tour with our German friends and told a lot about it of why the stones and notes of paper had been left on the graves. Well worth a visit.

I would not have expected the oldest Jewish cemetery in Europe in the heart of Germany, especially one that was undamaged by the ravages of the second World War, and is a quiet oasis quite near the city center. But Worms has surprised me. Explanatory...More

This simply is a very beautiful place. If you visit Worms you should not miss it and take a stroll through the old tombe stones.
