The Lorelei story and the rock is a famous story of love and death and revenge. It is a part of the Rhine river with a sharp turn around a large very high rock that stands today as a Monument.

The statue is small and hidden in a curve of the Rhine so it can be easily missed. A little bit disappointing if you are expecting something more prominent.

A big rock stalls from the Rhine river , not really something special , apart of the legend telling that a beautiful nymphaea was sitting on eat and sailors looking at her crashed their boats to the rock and drowned. Look for it carefully, can...More

There are so many beautiful things to see when cruising the Rhine--vineyards, castles, villages--but this tiny statue is not one of them. The legend attached to the statue is much more interesting than the statue itself.

We were on a Vicking river cruise on the Rhine and were given a brief history of this statue. It is not huge, and kind of blends in with the surrounding vegetation. Be sure to have your camera ready, since the ships go by it...More

The Lorelei statue is beautifully mounted on the edge of a peninsula by the river Rhine and is probably the most snapped thing by the river cruise boat passengers as they go down river. It celebrates the story if the Sirens singing to the sailors...More

Enjoy the walk. Burn some calories by walking all the way out to the statue on the peninsula. Worth the effort.
