The church of Sankt Severus is locate in the town of Boppard's Marktplatz. I had never heard of this saint before, but then again there are a great number of them and most were martyrs for their faith. I particularly liked the relationship of this church to Boppard's busy marketplace and its contrasting stone and stucco architectural vocabulary.

Its beautiful architecture and colouring is delightful. It dominates the Market Square and gives the whole place so much extra character. We sat and admired it for ages.

The church just off the main square has very lovely stained glass windows....and is a must see. The church looks closed. just try the door and you will see it is open.

A Catholic church located in mid-town market. The church has a beautiful altar , but also some wonderful paintings. Must see!

St Severus is a beautiful church right in the heart of Boppard. Well worth a visit (free). When I was there, the door was open for a visit. I stayed at the nearby Hotel Hubertus and the church bells ring even in the middle of the night, so if you're accommodation is close to the church it might be wise... More

If you like to visit churches and cathedrals when you travel, this is worth a visit because the architecture is different from the norm. Striking both inside and out but don't expect to see a lot of stained glass windows.

You can see this lovely church as you approach Boppard. Most churches in this area are reddish brick, this one is stark white. Only a short walk from the main train station, it stands in the middle of town in the main shopping zone. Inside it is a peaceful, quiet respite from touristy Boppard. The aroma of frankincense is heavy... More

The church is an oasis in the busy tourist centre of the town, very peaceful. There is a pleasant open air café, and it isn't far to walk to the river walk.

The church is colorful, both inside and outside, and full of beautiful art. While the architectonic form is rather heavy and the verticality out of proportion with the horizontal dimensions, the overal color scheme maintains a formal unity in the building. Especially the stained glass windows in the gallery on the right are worth looking at. Interesting is the fact... More

this church is very simple and poor. Its situated nearby a marketsquare and an giftshop. Nearby is also a shoppingstreet. But that street is not recommended by me.
