It was an extraordinary experience. The temperature is 9 degrees Celsius yearround, so perfect on a day during a heatwave. No cameras allowed inside, because its privatly owned. There are many stunning stalagmites, bring your own imagination and you will see your own sculptures. Defenitly worht the stop!

I visited the Atta-Höhle the first time 30 years ago and since then a couple of times. The cave itself is still impressive, but the quality of the presentation became worse. The path through the cave made a more dirty impression as it was a few years ago (maybe due to the amount of visitors moving through it...).
This is, however, not my main critic, I was mainly annoyed by the way the guide waled us through the cave. The group size became much larger compared to earlier times and I had a permanent feeling of being rushed through the path. A few years ago, the guide pointed to many more sculptures in the cave and played with the fantasies of the visitors, but nowadays this happens only occasionally.

Its the biggest cave in Germany according to Wikipedia and indeed it is (since its the first cave ive seen in Germany ) . You Will be awed by the Stalactites and stalagmites .. could have Been more fun if the tour guide was speaking in English . But i guess Im the only One there who cant (what a shame though i can pick up a few words i understand ) . But my daughter was sweet enough to be my tour guide . Its quite cold inside the cave so its best to wear jacket . If youre claustrophobic Dont Go inside , theres a lot of low ceiling part and Very narrow paths . But hey, conquer your fear , i did ! Otherwise youll Miss a beautiful cave ! Theres One thing though that isnt right for me , the entrance to the cave was enclosed in a man made tunnel as shown in my photo below . It didnt excite me to Go inside at first coz it seems Like man made and going into a theater . But then the long walk in the tunnel ensued with a wow as you see the beauty of whats inside the cave . And also youre not allowed to take pictures inside . I got this One coz my companion took a picture before we even found out its not allowed . Outside is a restaurant and shops and Dont Miss the train ride to enjoy the Town .

Surprisingly, this cave was opened quite recently, about 100 years ago , although it is located in the city center , which is about 1,000 years old. The entrance to this cave into the rock , and was covered with bushes and vegetation. Cave karst origin , has only been investigated in the beginning, her moves are for many miles. This is the biggest cave in Germany. Probably the surrounding mountains and riddled with caves. In any case, it is interesting to visit and admire razoobraziyu forms of stalactites and stalagmites , as well as the mysterious underground lakes .

The guided tour through Atta-Hohle is inexpensive yet very interesting. The tour is about an hour long so you will have time to visit other sights in the area such as Burg Schnellenberg,

We had tickets as a part of our hotel stay package, but it would have been interesting to come here anyway. Lovely caves, they give a tour every hour I believe but it is only available in german. You're not allowed to take pictures inside, which is a bit odd if you ask me. There's also a gift shop on the grounds where you can buy local wine and cheese, and not very local (but nonetheless pretty) stones.

We visited this cave in march, it was a real surprise. The tour was about an hour and the cave is beautifull. The tourguide only spoke german but hè spoke slowly and clearly so it was quite understandable. If you are in this part of Germany this cave is a trui gem.

Really beautiful mounten cave. If in the area, this cave is defiantly worth a visit.
We had the pleasure of a tour guide that so passionately took as through this almost fairytale like cave.
I’m coming back to visit this cave with my family one day, no doubt.

Disappointing compared with other caves we visited. Lighting dated and poorly sited, cash only so beware. Shop poorly stocked with expensive tacky crystals, unlike that promised by the brochure
