I'd definitely recommend this this island for a two or three day break. The main centre has adequate restaurants and interesting shops in very nice setting. There are many undulating walkways that will take you to various points where you can enjoy the views. Wild roses grow beside many of the paths all over the the island. There are also... More

Langeoog is a beautiful island located in the North Sea. To get there, you must travel by boat. They have an indoor swimming pool with a wave machine that turns on every 20 minutes or so and the water is salt water. It is a great island to explore, but be cautious of the times when the tide rolls back... More

Arrived her via ferry onto this island in the North (Nord) Sea. A train quickly takes you to the town that has lovely shops and restaurants. A quick walk thru the town and you are up and over the sand dunes to the beach at the Nord Sea. Pretty beach with white sand. Tide was out so to get to... More

Langeoog in May is relaxed and uncrowded. Everywhere you look you will see young families pushing strollers or dragging child-trailers behind their bikes. The hotels, restaurants and attractions on this island all seam to easily handle the needs of people carting small children around. The lack of heavy vehicles puts parents at ease and the ability to walk or bike... More

On a wintersday you can have a brilliant slow break in the Isle of Langeoog. It is one of the so called Frisian Waddeneilanden in Das Wattenmeer a region from Friesland in The Netherlands up to North Friesland in Denmark. Halfway the Islands are part of North Germany. Dunes, strands and sea are the ingredients. You can walk for hours... More

As I went biking through the dunes of Langeoog with my group, at some point we were waiting for two others to catch up, and then we realised how quiet and serene this island is. No cars, lots of birds everywhere and quiet! We stayed in a nice house, and the ferry was on time and was well kept and... More

I went with no idea what to expect. It was a much needed holiday and a great place to switch off. It really is a great place to do some gentle walking, nature exploring, beach bathing. We had great weather. Took pizza and wine to the beach to watch the sun set. Food was generally good. Some feedback suggests it's... More

Langeoog is one of the seven East-Frisian islands. It offers a car-free, relaxing and informal environment, 9 miles of unspoiled natural sandy beach, a nice little town and just enough activities to be not boring at all. You will have to take the ferry from the tiny mainland port of Bensersiel. The passage is sheltered and the ferry is very... More

Seemed to be a truly lovely place. Beware though, very few people speak English, so do your research at home and arrive prepared. Like, the fact that the ferry ticket also includes the train ride at the island - or else you have to walk 2,5km to the city centre. And don't bother to rent a bicycle before you get... More
