There a five markets in Munster that make up the Christmas market in 2018 and they are all slightly different and with different number of stalls spread around the main circular street in the city. It’s definitely a bit disjointed and not easy to follow....More

Visiting this church was the highlight of my recent visit to Luneburg. The Church was built in the Middle Ages and the columns on the left side of the church are tilted as well as the wall on the left side of the church.Sometimes, the...More

More red brick Gothic. Another beauty--after St Nicolai nearby. But this church lacks its furnishings. St Nicolai is special because of the altar and other carvings and paintings. Definitely worth a visit. But not the full package that you have at St Nicolai.

The whole inside but the ceiling of this brick gothic church is painted in pink. Several pillars are slenting due to the excavation of salt, which once made the wealth of the city. No fear: everything has been secured. Very nice altarpiece: a painting depicting...More

This church is very big, but beautifully decorated. There is an impressive organ on the upper floor. Quick visit but worth the time.

As salt mines made the riches of Lüneburg, its extraction also lead to the soil to subside in some parts of town. The effects of such can clearly be seen at Michaelskirche, once the church of a powerful Beneditan Abbey, in which some columns can...More

This Church is a very interesting stop in a lovely place . Luneburg was once a rich medieval salt trading centre . Much of its attraction lies in how well the town has preserved and restored its buildings . Whilst very definitely on the tourist...More
