For some reason I like this sort of old castle or ruins rather than the nice fancy beautiful castles. So this is my kind of thing and I truly enjoyed it . Beautiful .
I call this my must-see attraction when I take friends to this area. The visit is free and one can just take time to explore the ruin and take pictures of the stunning views. I have never seen this castle crowded. One of my favorites!
Great view, free entrance, can go up to the towers, nice stop, mostly the resturant is not open. Can travel with bike up to the castle

A half an hour south of Burg Frankenstein, this ruin is bigger and has better views of the surrounding valley from two towers. When we went, it was free to the public. Those with limited mobility should not have an issue visiting this ruin.
The castle is very nice. Unfortunately in February the local restaurant is closed so you can't drink and eat there during winter season.
