It's a super cable car ride to the top. Great views and walking trails. A must visit. When you come down by the cable car you must walk back to Lake Tegernesse. It's a 30 minute walk but the country side, houses, farms are amazing.

The cable car leads up to the Wallberg where you can have a short hike up to the top, enjoy the panoramic view in the panorama restaurant or walk a little down to the wallberghaus. All is feasable with dogs. Also you can do with...More

Definitely take the gondola to get stunning views of the lake and surrounding mountains, then walk back to town on an easy path with abundant flowers.

We hiked up the mountain and took the Bahn back down, the views are stunning and since the compartments only seat 4 people you are able to enjoy them with only your travel companions.

We went up the cable car to the top of Wallberg and it was magnificent! We spent about 3 hours relaxing, drinking beer in deck chairs and enjoying the views. Worth a visit especially with children. We wanted to sled down but the sled run...More

We had a blast sledding you can rent the sleds at the bottom it was an amazing fun long ride. It made for so many fun memories with our kids. I can't wait to go back in the summer to enjoy the lake.

Just an hour from Munich, one of the coolest place for sledding, with 6.5km, one of the longest in Bavaria. Up by cable car, down with the sled (that you can actually rent at the bottom station). Awesome for grownups and kids!

Sledging in the UK meant sliding down the hill in the local park, then dragging the sledge and yoursef back up the hill under your own steam. Not here. Pay to go up the mountain in a cable car then sledge down the 6,5Km track,...More

We were there in June, so I have no personal experience with the weather in February. That said, the mountains are close to the lake, one of the very attractive aspects of this area, so I would expect you might encounter... More

Day trip from Munich to Tegnersee (3 Replies)
Looking for help or hints on doing a daytrip from Munich to Tegnersee, next Sunday. Hoping to combine the Wallbergbahn with the local. Christmas markets.I am trying to get a feel for timing out the day. 1. How long is the cable car ride? Is there snow ( enough for atmosphere, we wont ski). 2. I understand there is a boat that connects 3 Christmas markets. Where do you catch the boat, does it do a circuit of the towns of Tegnersee, Bad Wiessee and Rotgach Egern? How long is the ride between...More

Thank you! If we arrive in Rottach Egern and do the cable car in the morning, with lunch at the restaurant, will we have enough time to visit the markets by boat and still make a 18:52 train from Tegnersee? Does the Bayern ticket cover the train fare?
