Only visited the outside of the Schloss, but that already was very impressive. The area around the Schloss in quiet and a good place to relax after a long day of sightseeing. And the view from the Schloss is great.

I had lunch in the Schloss and it was wonderful. I love this part of Germany and have returned every year since 2010.

The castle is the home of a museum with broad variety of topics. Some related to the town and region, others more generic. Look out for music performances in its saloon, too.

It was free to enter the courtyard and roam around the grounds. Very inexpensive to visit the museum and well worth the visit. Amazing to see how badly damaged it was after WWII and how you would never know today. A few interesting exhibits of cork models and German paintings to supplement the beautiful furnishings exhibit. Nice finish in the... More

We visited with friends and happened to arrive on a Renaissance Fair day. Great attractions and lots of fun.

I have visited this castle several times, and it is absolutely stunning. Sitting in a prominent area of the town overlooking the river, it is probably the 'must see' attraction in Aschaffenburg.

When we were here, it was very hot and there was no airconditioning whatsoever in this building. We went through it rather quickly. Some of the displayed items were rather interesting, but not all of them. I would not go back, unless there is something worth seeing on display.

The castle mainly hosts an excellent series of exhibitions rather than being a representation of castle life. Some rooms in the castle seem a little sterile and modern. The castle is large so there is a lot of walking. Very good but not quite what we expected.
