There really are some interesting and amazing artifacts housed in this museum. Unfortunately for most of the artifacts information, there is not an English version. This meant I could not learn anything about what I was looking at. Later through the museum there were some translations available. I think as English is such a common language that it would make sense to include English versions for each room.

The medieval treasure with its precious objects of silver, rock crystal and gold is one of the most important ensembles of its kind in Germany. The centerpiece is the famous Magdalenen altar by Luckas Cranach the Elder. In addition, the collection includes important finds from prehistoric and Roman times.

I visited the museum yesterday, it costs 2.50 euros, or 1.50 for concessions. The interior is packed on 3 levels with artefacts from various centuries throughout the ages. There are many items of interest and great beauty, and this is an attraction well worth a visit.

Located adjacent to the beautiful Stifs Church, this interesting museum displays both archaeology finds from the neighboring area, plus Medieval church related treasures. Also included is one, small room filled with church-related torture instruments.

An hour's visit here is0 worth the modest admissions price.
