About
The treetop walk is 1,250 meters long and up to 20 meters high. It has activity and learning stations, and its highlight is the 40 meter high, architecturally unique view tower. Once you reach its uppermost platform, you will be rewarded with a beautiful view out over thick woodlands of the Black Forest.

Lovely walk in and above the trees
Sep 2020 • Solo
The boardwalk among the tree tops features boards with information on the forest and its animals that are child-appropriate, and some “adventure” sections like walking on ropes or rolling logs. These sections are to the side of the regular path, just an option for those who want to try it. The main structure at the end of the path rises up like a spiral, with a gentle slope that allows use of children’s buggies or wheelchairs. There’s a slide in the middle but that’s charged extra. COVID-19 regulations mean traffic up and dow is separated which was actually nice. At the bottom there’s a shop, restrooms and a large playground that looks amazing (not sure if there’s a charge for it, it’s fenced in).
Entrance fee is 11 Euros which I find a bit much (especially when compared with 9.75 Euros for the Mercedes-Benz Museum in Stuttgart that I visited two days later).
Very nice walking / hiking paths around it.

Nice walk
Sep 2020 • Couples
Nice walk through treetops. Fun things on the way for kids to do. The tower is a lenghty but easy ascent. The view from the top is nice but not as spectaculair as expected.

Awesome tower
Aug 2020 • Couples
We climbed this tower for the first time while visiting Bad Wildbad. I liked how it wasn’t a steep climb, which made it nice for folks of all fitness. I saw several folks with wheelchairs and they seemed to manage. The view from the top was awesome. You get a great view of the park. One tip: they have a slide from the top that looks pretty fun. However, it costs €2/person and you MUST have change. We didn’t have it, so we’ll have to wait until next time.

Highly recommend you check it out. Great place for a walk and for the kids to play on a cool playground.

Squirrel perspective

It is really fantastic experience to walk at level of tree tops and have a view from totally different angle than usually. When taking the funicular to the top this is a must do in my humble opinion. Forrest of Schwarztwald is extremely beautiful and fascinating also from this exceptional angle.

Expensive, but gorgeous views from the top
Jul 2020 • Couples
When we arrived at the baumwipfelpad, we were surprised by how organised everything was. We expected just a route through the forest and not much more (our bad for not doing enough research).

There is a large parking lot and a ticket booth where you receive more information. Entry sets you back 11 euros and 6 per kid. This I thought was quite expensive. I do get that they have to pay for the upkeep etc, but for families this can really add up. I personally am not used to outdoor activities being this costly.

The path is really well maintained though. There is a straight path leading up to the spiral path and they did also make this special, with little parcours for kids (and adults if you wish) and with information on the surrounding forest. The spiral path is really cool and not that steep. Kids and elderly didn't seem to have great difficulty. I even saw that it is accessible to mobility scooters. Once you arrive at the top, you're rewarded with gorgeous views over the valley and the forest.

You can either walk down, or take a 50 meter long slide. We, being toddlers at heart, obviously went for the second option. This costs 2 euros per person (like I said, it can really add up) and is quite fun. I liked that they made little windows in the slide and that it didn't go terribly fast.

Near the bottom of the slide, there are toilets, which surprisingly were free, and a lovely little giftshop. There is also a playground, but I think you need to pay separately for that as well.

Concluding, I loved the path but I do wish they'd make it a little more affordable. This way more families will be able to visit and enjoy the outdoors in this special way.

Walk

This view is amazing! It’s €11 for adults and wheelchair and stroller accessible. As you walk back down from the tree in top there is a okay area for the kids, but you have to pay for it. Overal our time experience was nice

Very fun outing
Jul 2020 • Family
We decided to use this beautiful day for an outing. It was easy to find.
There are lots of fun things to do around the area, but be aware that they all cost money.
For our family of 5, we paid 23,50€ to get j to the Baumwipfelpfad. They have a fun slide that goes down for 2€ per person. It was fun! Then we wanted to head to the park there, but it would've cost an extra 20€ for all of us to go. If we had just sent our kids in, it still would've cost 18€. I wasn't happy with that, because it's a playground. Nothing really special to justify that much extra money. We also didn't go on the expansion bridge nearby because I read it's not worth the money.
We paid 5€ for parking.

One of Best Tree Top Walks
May 2020 • Solo
I chose to take the cable car to the mid platform and then walk the bridge to the top.
Along the path, you slowly ascend through the firs, beeches, spruces and pines to the observatory.
It is an easy walk for all ages. The walk up the observatory is a gentle incline with no exertion.
You can access with a wheelchair, baby stroller or even crutches. It is not like climbing uphill.
Some activities along the path to challenge your tree climbing skills if you choose.
The 360 view of the Black Forest is jaw dropping.
You can go down the slide chute for a small fee (€2 or so). Or, walk back the way you went up.
There's activities for the kids off-side and a picnic area. Pets are allowed but not on the observation tower.
The town below is charming and quiet with tons of eateries both waterside and inside the side streets. Shopping and bars and quiet green spaces. Love it.

Nice walk, views and nature
Dec 2019
Great walk in nature even for those who are not too active. Not too steep.
Unfortunately, the slide is closed in the winter, so we had to walk back down.
Very cool engineering on the tower itself.
All signs are in German, but there is an handout in english.

There is a lot of construction going on just south of the tower and it looks like next year there will be some very cool and very large children's play areas.
