The Monbachtal gorge is absolutely gorgeous. The path can be a bit tricky (so wear proper shoes) but highly rewarding. The river meanders through The Valley with small waterfalls along the way. With autumn setting in, scenery was even more beautiful. You can park at the entrance but do make a plan how to walk (otherwise it is the same way back - which is, given the beautiful place, not a bad option).

A great walk from the hotel.

The free local walks guide gives a good description. Lots of clambering about and stream crossings on stepping stones so boots advisable.

Enjoyable Hike

Very nice hike through the woods following the water. There are plenty of spots to stop along the way to have yourself a packed lunch as well as a cafe/small eatery at the beginning of the trail.

A wonderful experience

What a wonderful route to go hicking. This is definitely the best way to enjoy the true essence of the Black Forest. My friends came to visit me from Spain and I decided to take them here, and they were delighted. I totally recommend this place.
