What people are saying
Great facilty but confusing locker rooms.

Unlike the former Hallenbad and Freibad, which were downtown, the Aquafun is located on the west side of the city. While visiting Soest, I wanted to go for an early morning lap swim and it was over a 3 km walk from our motel near the Osthofentor. There was no desk attendant at that time, so I had to call the lifeguard from the desk by a special phone. A swimmer pointed this out to me. The lifeguard was friendly and helpful, unlike the grumpy guys that used to work at the pools in the 1960's. The admission price of 5 Euros, including locker, was reasonable and allowed 1.5 hours, including changing time. I received an electronic bracelet which allowed access to my choice of locker and recorded my time in the pool. If you forget your locker number, there is an electronic reader on the pool deck near the lockers rooms where you can scan the bracelet. The pool was busy but there was room to swim up and down. Water temperature was cool but good for lap swimming. There were no backstroke flags so one has to be alert for the end of the pool. Also I didn't see any kickboards available for use, but I didn't ask. The locker area is coed. Not knowing where to go, I followed another swimmer into the handicapped change area. I think there are cubicles for changing in the main area. There are other other pools including a fun splash pool and a seasonal outdoor pool, waterslides, a spa and sauna. I only used the main pool. There is lots of parking and the city bus stops nearby.

State-of-the-art Swimming/Water Fun Platz

As an American in Germany, I had no idea what to expect at AquaFun Soest. All I knew was the neighbor kids loved it. In true German fashion, it was well-thought-out and ingenious. The lockers were individual cells -- you entered one side, locked the door behind you, changed clothes, and exited the other (pool) side with a key to unlock when it was time to leave.

Inside, there was a traditional pool with diving boards, and a variety of saunas (did not try) and a very cool wave-pool. As I recall there was a snack area too. All of it was very modern in design and very high-tech.

It was indeed a lot of "AquaFun"!

Sauna and great relaxation

This place isn't only for pool and swimming. They have a great selection of sauna and both indoor and outdoor jacuzzi/pool. If you are using the sauna side, no need to bring swim suits. Bullring your own towels and robes to save a few euros.

Fun for kids and adults

We go there frequently as it is one of the fun places our kids love to go to when the weather is bad. They have a fun pool, different slides and a pool to swim.

Clean spacious fun

visited the swimming pool outside on a very sunny saturday, and still the outside pool was not completely full. We had a lot of fun jumpikg into the pool and swimming.
There is plenty of place to lay on the grass outside.
Didn't visit the saunas or inside pools but the wave machine looked serious.
