Great place to walk around
May 2019 • Couples
This historic town on the River Main is a great place for touring from and is on a well marked tourist route. Walking, cycling and driving this route takes in historic sites and vineyards.

Wonderful medieval town
Jul 2019 • Couples
We were lucky to visit on beautiful summers day and all the shops and restaurants were open. It is a beautiful medieval town, such exquisite old buildings, some have been kept in great state, some the age is telling with sagging beams, but obviously still being lived in. Just a lovely place to take a stroll around, recommend visiting

Avoid during Winter

Really awesome, beautiful town but many of the shops and businesses are closed until Spring. We found this out the hard way haha. We will be back when the weather warms up.

A Showpiece For Medieval Architecture
Jul 2017 • Couples
Miltenberg is on the Main River and is a town of about 10,000 people. Notable for its well preserved, decorative half-timbered houses it’s a tourist haven and photographer’s paradise. The houses date from the 15th to 17th century, although the oldest, verified house is dated to 1333, and it has been lived in continuously since then. Wonderful to stroll around.

Magnificent Medieval Buildings
Apr 2017 • Friends
This is one of the most beautiful towns in the area and I was pleased to revisit. There are many half-timbered houses and two main squares Some highlights include Angel Square, Zum Riesen which is probably Germany's oldest hotel. St. Jakobus the 1380 town church, the old Town Hall, the 1583 Renaissance town well, The 1667 Franciscan church in Angel Square, the bridge, a town gate-tower and much more. Near a watchtower gateway leading up out of the town there is a skeleton statue at the place where the town executioner would enter the town. In the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries over 200 'witches' were killed in this area. If you get an opportunity, certainly visit Miltenberg.

Fairy-tale comes to life
May 2017 • Couples
What a fabulous medieval and historical village oozing with history. Loved the wonderful food shops, especially the butchers and the people here are so helpful and friendly. There are some toilets near the bridge which are clean and there is no charge. The architecture in this village is fabulous and take your time to sit down and revile in the atmosphere.

Miltenberg is a wonderful Medieval town with many half timbered houses. There's also a castle that sits on the hill. It's well worth a visit.

Medival Town

Visited this town as part of a Viking River Cruise. Worth seeing the half timber houses and learning the history of the town. It was cold and rainy and got dark while we were there, not the best conditions for a good visit. Recommend visiting during daylight.

Another wonderful Medieval town
Oct 2016 • Friends
Another stop on our Viking cruise, Miltenberg oozes history. Our guide, Andy, gave us a very good over view of the town's history. Would have loved to have had another few hours to really investigate more of the side streets, little shops, the local castle...
