This is why you come to Weltenburg. The inside of the church is spectacular, like nothing I've seen before, so much details, and lots of little tricks used by the architects to create space and light.I would recommend a getting a guide to explain it...More

This is an outstanding Baroque structure. The interior is absolutely outstanding. Very opulent, huge swirling columns, gilded plaster work and the expected huge oil paintings of biblical scenes. Well worth a visit. Donations gratefully received.

The cruise was 45 minutes to weltenburg from kelheim and it was very cheap (6€ one way) and offered food and beer. Most beer here goes for (3,30€) The weltenburg convent, oldest in Europe was breathtaking (entrance to church is free) and the food offered...More
