A Prostestant simple and beautiful church with interesting epithaphs for former dukes. We had hoped to see the grave of the Danish Queen Caroline Mathilde, but that is only possible on Thursdays.

This church looks very simple on the outside. However, it is different inside. It is very grand inside. The decorations, carvings and statues are very intricate, which gave character to the place.

Don't let the simple humble design on the outside fool you. This church is very ornate and magnificent inside. Also on a hot day, they have a cold water cooler inside. It helps when you've been walking around town for a while.

This church is situated on the main square in the pedestrian zone of old Celle. It's not nearly as elaborate or large as other European churches you may have already visited yet it's a nice stop for a little while if you've got the time....More

Pleasantly surprise again with a Saturday morning trumpet tune from the bell tower. The interior is still beuatiful with its ornate paintings and altar decorations. But since last visit some memorials such as the Waterloo one seem to have gone

The interior was a surprise - a definitely nice one, I might add. Plenty of paintings and details. Cheap admission to the tower - which might not be particularly tall, yet the location of the Stadtkirche Sankt Marien guarantees the views.

This is a beautiful church. Well maintained and definitely worth a visit. For 1 euro you can climb the church tower which is really nice. You come by the huge bells and have an amazing view of the city, the palace and the surroundings.
