What an amazing experience dog sledding with Team Lyngen was! Tommy was super helpful and flexible.
The dogs are so friendly! You are shown how to do everything from putting on the harness on the dogs to the actual sledding.
If you are thinking about booking, do it! You won’t regret it

The best part was the passion shown by Tommy about his dogs and dog racing.
We really enjoyed the fact that you had freedom to drive your own sledge, as well as putting the harnesses on the dogs. Tommy has plenty of flexibility which makes it even better regarding the time and the activities. He takes time to explain everything and you can ask as many questions as you want, he will answer with pleasure.
You can see that he is doing everything himself and for the dogs. Nothing to compare with a bigger company.

A fantastic experience. Tommy is funny, informative and friendly. He loves his dogs and his dogs love him. First he introduced us to all his huskies, then showed us how to fit their harnesses. My 10 year old son was in absolute heaven. His favourite was Sari. Then a tutorial on how to dog sled and off we went! Much faster and more exciting than I expected - a real buzz! Afterwards we have the dogs their breakfast and met his beautiful Burmese mountain dog. A wonderful experience in a stunning location. Utterly unmissable. 10/10

Great day with the dogs, learning about them, getting them prepared, a fun little trails. Also a great finish to it in Tommi’s hut by the beach, with a campfire, coffees and teas and some great stories.
Highly recommended.

Tommy is not only a very experienced dogsledding tours guide but he is a very special person. He adjusted the tour according to our needs and was patient and kind with all of us. The dogs are very special sweet and affectionate. Had a great ride!! He finally offered us an increadible experience of a coffee breack after dogsledding in his hut in front of the sea. Everything was just perfect but above all Tommy's personality is overwhelming. He told us a lot about Norway and its economy and traditions. Strongly recommended and to be preferred to larger dogsledding companies

As a family we spent a great day with Tommy and his Alaskan Huskies - the place has such a homely feel, and clearly Tommy loves his dogs, and it is all so relaxed, and informative, not just about Husky Racing (which sounds such an amazing endurance sport) but also Norwegian Life in a beautiful setting. We spent 4 very happy hours with Tommy & his gorgeous dogs. Totally recommend a visit.

We visited Tommy and his beautiful huskies for a half day tour in Jan. It was perfect and well worth the drive from Tromso (you will need to rent a car to get there). Having done the research, I wanted a relaxed, non commercial dog sledding experience where I got to spend time with the dogs and their owner. Tommy gave us exactly that. He was friendly, open, very knowledgeable about both the area and dog mushing, and also very accommodating (we had a lot of issues with the weather, our car and other tours getting cancelled - Tommy was super helpful throughout). The dogs are just beautiful - clearly very happy, loved and looked after. They were so nice to be around and I would come back any time of the year just to spend some time with them. In conclusion, please don't hesitate to book with Tommy. In addition to everything else, you'll also save money - his tours are more personal and half the price of what you pay in/around Tromso.

We'd had a recommendation to head to Team Lyngen for a visit, and though we were in Lyngseidet in the autumn before the snow, we were still able to have a fantastic experience meeting Tommy and his dogs. Seeing the dogs first of all was great - they are so well trained, very friendly and really well behaved - Tommy's calm, good natured manner with them is just great to see. All the dogs want to be at the front but they know Tommy is in charge!
We took it in turns to ride behind the full team as they ran their track as part of the pre-winter training, then enjoyed a hot cup of coffee over the fire in front of the fjord in the most stunning spot. Tommy is really friendly and knowledgable, and will tell you all you want to know about the area and about living in northern Norway. He filled us in on the art and sport of racing with dogs, which is very much a labour of love, and showed us a thing or two about lighting a decent fire!
Remember to wrap up warm and take a good camera - this is an experience you will definitely treasure.

One of my travelling companions was not sure if she wanted to go dog sledding so we booked a few hours with Tommy, who was very accommodating. We harnessed up his lovely dogs beforehand and then had fun on the circular route round his farm. There are only two sleds including Tommy's so if there are more than three of you you will have to take it in turns. It's narrow in parts and yes we fell off, but part of the fun was laughing when the excited dogs came home first followed by their musher's walk of shame. Afterwards we helped feed the dogs and then Tommy lit a campfire on the beach where we had coffee. It was interesting to talk and get more of an understanding of the area and the local people. Tommy also does full trips out in the countryside but unfortunately we couldn't fit that in.

Tommy Larsen and his dogs are the best experience you will find all over Norway.
His dogs and their healt and security ALWAYS come first, the way he treates them is amazing, respect!
He is very patient, he will explain everything about dog sledding and let you experience what it is feels like to do everything yourself.
It begins with greeting the dogs, getting to know them. The thing that most shocked me is how polite all his dogs are. No barking, and very friendly and calm. Then you will learn a bit of technical aspect of how to drive a sledge.
You will put the harnesses yourself to the dogs and tie them up in their places. And off it goes.
I felt secure all the way and soooo much fun.
If you have the time, go visit Tommy, you won't regret it :D

Is there dog sledding tours in May for visitors? Would like to try this with assistance . We would be coming from Canada and meeting up with relatives in Harstad Norway!
