Not to miss in Friedrichshafen
Jul 2021
A very nice museum with a good collection and information for everybody, from young to old. The reproduction of the rooms of the Zeppelin are a real highlight, but a bit crowded for Corona-times.

Dear Pedro, thank you very much for your visit and you rating. We're very pleased you had a good time inside our museum. During the summer and especially on rainy days it really can get a bit crowded but we have taken numerous measures to guarantee the safety of our employees and visitors. Our air conditioning is equipped with a UV filter that kills viruses and bacteria. We still have a visitor cap and the distance and mask rule applies throughout the building. We look forward to welcoming you again soon. Your Zeppelin Museum Team

Fascinating museum in a beautiful part of Germany
Jul 2020
I went to the Museum in the 2000s with my Father many times.
It is excellent! The Archive (access by appointment to students and researchers) has a fascinating collection.
I must go back to Friedrichshafen (a beautiful place and conveniently on the border with Switzerland and Austria) again when Covid allows travel more widely.
Highly recommended.

Dear Andrew S, thank you very much for your visit and your rating. We're very pleased you enjoyed your many visits to our museum (and the Archives!) so much. Although the city of Friedrichshafen suffered a lot of damage during World War 2 and doesnt have a picturesque old town like other cities around the lake, we agree that the view over the lake towards the Swiss Alps is pretty unbeatable - best enjoyed on our Museum restaurant terrace after enjoying our exhibitions. :-) We hope to welcome you back again soon! Not to be missed!
Sep 2020
You should visit the Zeppelin Museum when you are in Friedrichshafen. It shows among other things impressively the construction of a Zeppelin by a graphically well designed video. Of course you will find many original parts from airship aviation and replicated cabins and lounges, so that you can easily imagine what it was like to travel across the Atlantic in a Zeppelin. The upper floors of the museum are reserved for temporary art exhibitions.

Interesting material but badly organised
Sep 2020 • Couples
The material and content of the museum is very interesting. But despite the high number of staff, nobody (neither three brochures) indicated is that the first stop should have been the media room, to have a proper introduction. Also there rooms and exhibits are in an unclear order, so that we could not really follow logically the material presented

A pity, as the content is really interesting. Still interesting 3 hours we spent in there

Dear francyak, thank you very much for your visit and your rating. You're right, the media room is an ideal introduction to the exhibition and a great starting point to your zeppelin journey. In "normal" times, staff actually does advise our visitors to visit the media room first. During Corona we have to monitor the number of people inside the room so some people are steered towards the exhibition floors first and encouraged to watch the 3D movies later. Since they can also be a good way of finishing your journey. We admit that the exhibition concept can be a bit confusing, as there is no clear circuit. This is due to the fact, that the museum building is a historic monument and used to be the harbor train station. We had to adapt the exhibition to the premises. We accept your criticism and are pleased that you had a good time in our museum afterall. We hope to welcome you again soon! Your Zeppelin Museum Team

Much to learn about the history and the technics of a Zeppelin
Sep 2020
Much to learn about the history and the technics of a Zeppelin.
Good view about the size, and interior of a Zeppelin airship. Nicely setup. Even in Covid-19 times worth a visit. Some areas (insite the airship cabines) are very narrow. Well regulated by a friendly stuart.

A superb exposition of the history and technology
Oct 2019
The museum combines experiential opportunity (climbing up as if into the interior of a Zeppelin) with historical accounts of the development and deployment of airships. A very worthwhile experience.

A very good museum that covers an important part of German/World history very well
Jun 2019
Byfar the most outstanding part of this museum is at the very start when you get a perspective on how big the Zeppelins were. There are lots of interactive displays - driving one of these things would not have been easy - and a lot of material - unfortunately, not a lot of it in English so large parts of the museum are left to your imagination. Museum is located on the Lake Constance foreshore and offers very good packages with the Dornier Museum

A well organised museum in a great location
Feb 2020
This is an excellent museum carefully tracing the istory of the Zeppelin. There are interesting artefacts and well written descriptors (although mostly in German with English sub-titles). A highlight of our trip. A great restaurant as well for lunch or a leg-resting coffee break.
