Our company conducted an annual meeting that required a relatively large area for serving dinner. The Zeppelin Hanger was up to the task. The room easily accommodated our group. The service was great as well as the food selection. They offered a very solid selection of starters to go with a variety of tasty options for the main course. I’d strongly suggest this spot for entertaining large groups for dinner.

The flight was fantastic- the air was smooth and since it flies at low levels, you could really see Bodensee (Lake Constance) and the surrounding area. There are two openable windows, one front right and one back left that let you take photographs without intervening glass. You can walk around the ship freely except for take-off and landing. The guide was good and the pilot even better. We did the Mainau trip and I think an hour is about right. With 30 minutes you would pretty much just go up and down. BUT – flights can be cancelled due to weather, so plan to stay for two or three days in case you have to reschedule.

This was on my to do list and fly on a Zeppelin. It is quite pricey for a 30 minute ride but is worth it if you love flying. The airship flys at around 40 knots and 900 feet. I won't spoil the take off sensation but it was exhilarating.

We booked and paid for a trip on a Zeppelin airship 6 months in advance - we were the first to book that day as they had to publish the schedule so we could book. When we arrived at Freidrichshafen we received an email to say sorry we had to cancel your flight as there was fog this morning. Come back tomorrow! We had travelled from Australia and were devastated however we noticed that flights were going as we saw the ship flying as it turned into a lovely sunny afternoon. We were told, "I am sorry but all those flights are booked out." But we were the first to book some 6 months before We explained that we had booked FIRST six months ago and had come from Australia. We were offered a flight the next day at 4 pm however there are only 3 flights a day from Friedrichshafen to Frankfurt and the last one leaves at 2.30 pm so that was no use to us. "You booking never expires" she tells us with a smile. Does she know where Australia is? We complain - "Leave us you phone number and we will call you if we can arrange a flight". We check that they have our number by getting them to call us. Back to Friedrichshafen - walking along the shore, Beautiful sunny day and we are watching the airship flights from Lake Constance. We call Zeppelin from our hotel. No flights available. They are not interested in anything we have to say. It would have been ok if the weather was bad and the flights were cancelled, but to see people who booked after us enjoying a flight in the sunshine when we came from Australia is deversating. We give up and go to Switzerland. This would have to be the WORST company I have ever come across. Inconsiderate. Customer service has not reached Zeppelin FN because they have no idea what it means. You really have to be desperate to ride on an airship to deal with these people. My advice .... give it a miss. They take your money, but don't expect any level of customer service. I for one will NEVER be back.

I'd always wanted to fly in an airship and after my flight being cancelled in London 8 years ago, and the ship never coming back to London, I ended up flying to the home of Zeppelin for a flight. The experience was well worth the effort. Amazing to experience something that so few people have experienced. We did a 1 hr flight which took us around Lake Contance over to Switzerland. The views were beautiful and it was fascinating to talk to the pilot and understand how complicated an airship is to pilot and all the training and flight licences required. Loved it! A cross between a plane, hot air balloon and helicopter!
