As other reviewers have said the interior can't be seen unless on tour and tours are only given in German. I went at 9:15am hoping that I would be the only person on tour, thus increasing my chances of having an English tour, which they...More

Impressive architecture and size! You can only go inside with a guided tour, so we did not do it. Still worth to go.

Impressive and elegant by turns, this building (or series of buildings) is towards the top of the town, and includes museum, art gallery, visitor space etc, as well as the Rose Garden, with its impressive views over the town. The surrounding streets are cobbled but...More

All through this region, government came from the Prince Bishops (or Archbishops) directly comparable to those we had in Northumbria UK. They were not sparing with their apartments! As with many other palaces and museums, photography is not allowed inside the building, a pity because...More

The New Residence is the seat and home of Bamberg's Prince Bishops. Impressive in many ways unfortunately the rear rose garden was under snow in the winter.

Why can you not supply the same amount of information, in other languages, to all visitors, you only cater for German native speakers, I know enough to get by in the language but the dialect Spoken was too difficult, I was told on paying at front desk it's no problem as other language guides are available, these are not guides, one told you dimensions of a room? Why would we want to know bedroom is 90sq m? The guide is informing on many things, she is so rushed through the many rooms she cannot take time for anyone. You take money from tourists to the town but you are not catering for them, if you continue to do this negative reviews will be posted and no visitors will come, is this the way forward? What do you do when people come from Viking river cruises? Or do they not? I look forward to hearing from you
