My husband and I visited this UNESCO site on our trip to Poland during our stay in Tarnowskie Gory. This Lead-Silver-Zinc Mine and its Underground Water Management System was inscribed to the World Heritage List in 2017. We didn't know what to expect as we've never visited a mine before. The tours are in groups, ours was a group of at least 20, maybe more. The tour lasted 90 min. I believe. Our tour guide spoke English and in addition we were given plenty of literature in English to fully understand what we were seeing. We all had to wear long raincoats and hard hats. The Tour started in the museum where we learned the history of the mine and the area. Then we took the elevator to go underground to visit the corridors from the 18th and 19th centuries. The tour covered over a mile of the corridors. We crossed part of the route in boats as it was through a flooded corridor. We toured adits, shafts, galleries and other features of the water management system. The images we experienced from the extensive labyrinth of corridors was priceless. This was such a unique visit we thoroughly enjoyed... we highly recommend!

Our tour was booked in English, a week in advance for two people, and our guide was very clear and with plenty of knowledge of the mine. Shout-out to Teresa who also gave us a lift to the city center! The mine is interesting and attractive to go visit. Do not go expecting a natural cave with impressive natural features and you won't be disapointed.

Interesting silvermine and Unesco heritage for watermanagement. Nice tour with hard hat that you really need when you need to lower your head for very low ceilings.

The place itself is really interesting, however only for polish speaking visitors. To book a tour in english you need to phone them at least 2 days before the visit. I rang week before and was told I can have the English guide if I pay for 6 tickets(!)as that’s the minimum amount of people they need to run the tour. As we needed only 3 I kept ringing and asking if there were any bookings for the day we wanted to go. On the day before our visit there was still no booking for an English tour ( perhaps because the website is not clear about booking tours for foreign visitors). We visited next day at 11 am to find out that there is actually a tour in English at 3 pm! However we decided not to wait 4 hours and go with the polish tour, which actually started without us as the lady selling tickets forget to mention the meeting point! Then she tried to blame us for being late plus the guide acted like he couldn’t care less. A young lady in the information was constantly chatting to other guides with her back to the counter, successfully ignoring everyone. The only person who was actually friendly, polite and professional was a young guy who was driving a small train outside. 2 ladies :from information and ticket booth should ask him for some tips regarding how to deal with customers

The woman at the cash desk preferred to speak German rather than English. On top of that she had to inform us there was no English guide today, so we thanked her for her time and left.
