Great Bush Walking!
Mar 2021
If you are are fitness fanatic, keen walker or just love the great outdoors this is the place to be. Located in Wonga Park, you get to walk along the Yarra River and if you're lucky enough, you might see a mob of kangaroos and echidnas!

hidden gem this place
Aug 2019
located down end of dead end road, you feel as if you are way out of the city, but so very close. very interesting walk along proper trail. bush, river (yarra) up and down hills, and then the big walk up mt lofty to have such a great look out and enjoy the hole area. all well maintained track, path which is gravel all the way, plenty of spots to stop and take in area, with some seating and table area to enjoy this place. allow 1.5 to 2 hours for the walk so you can enjoy it.

Pleasant walk
Mar 2019 • Friends
The loop from the car park along the Yarra River and up to Mount Lofty and then down to the car park takes about 1.5 hours. It's a very pleasant walk with views of the Yarra, walking through the native forest and then views of the Dandenong and Yarra Ranges from Mount Lofty. Good for adults and families. We say a number of couples with young children.

Our local Australian friends took us to Mount Lofty where we found the view over Adelaide amazing. Unfortunately is was a little bit cloudy so we couldn't see as far as on a clear day. Good to see a couple of boards telling you about the spot.

Hidden gem

Such a great track, real hidden treasure. Quite the run on a 35 degree day. Some steep sections to get the heart rate up.

Iconic Australian bushland that's well worth a visit

Mount Lofty features some of the nicest views in Warrandyte State Park. This 5.5 km walk is the perfect way to take in the summit and surrounding area, without getting the heart pumping too much or taking up too much time. There are several spots along the banks of the Yarra River (just off the track) that would be perfect for a picnic.
The walk begins at the point where the Yarra River meets Brushy Creek, which is said to be the birth-place of a Wurundjeri elder called William Barak. Start by crossing the foot-bridge (over the creek) at the north end of the carpark. Warrandyte State Park officially begins on the other side of the bridge and a well defined gravel walking track will lead you along the Yarra from here. The summit of Mount Lofty is reached quickly but you’ll find yourself stopping to check out the views all the way up.
Plenty of parking. Not wheelchair friendly. Kid friendly. Take water and wear a hat. Beware of snakes in the warmer months.

Walking among the roos

A great little hill just next to the Yarra river for a short evening stroll. The hill can be a little steep so take your time getting up and enjoy the views from the top.
