When visiting this site give yourself about 2/3 hours .There is lots to see and look at with an audio sound as you go round ,you work yourself in your own language . This fort was used by the Germans in the second world war...More
A highly recommended visit. This camp was the most infamous spot in Belgium and place of unmitigated horror and suffering. The audio tour does not pull its punches and frequently leaves you skocked. Due to its frankness, it may not be best suited to younger...More
A self-guided audio tour takes you into the rich (albeit somewhat eerie) history of Fort Breendonk. We were amazed at all that it had to offer and the incredible things that took place here. I highly recommend this to anyone regardless of your historical knowledge...More
Very well preserved concentration camp. The audio guide explains stories of the former prisoners and that allows you to understand the horrors experienced and to know the atrocities that were commited in this place.
It's a chilling place to visit that must be done!!
The audio guide is very interesting and helps give an insight to the horrors that took place. Be prepared for the strong emotions that you will experience whilst there.
