Bukit Jaddih is a limestone mining in Madura. Actually, it still actively mining the limestone, when I visited there. Yes, there are several pond, but only filled water during rainy season in december - April. Do not expect the watery pond outside those rain season.
According to local tour guide, this area still in development, would be add some hotel room, crave inside the hill from previous mining. He advise to go this place from Bangkalan City. He also a good photographer, seek the name Rusfandi/ Kak Ros.
Best moment is at sunset, you will see the sunset like Wakanda. Up high from white greenish limestone hill, as far as your eyes would see sky of red, orange, above overlay of green scenery and blue ocean. Came around at 15.00 local time, then take your time to magical sunset around 17.00.
When visiting Surabaya or Madura, this place should be on your bucket list.

Bukit Jaddih is located on Jaddih Village, Bangkalan in Madura. Bukit Jaddih was actually a mining area. To reach this place, we need about an hour from Surabaya with car or motorcycle. We are gonna pass Suramadu Bridge- the longest bridge in Indonesia. It is easy to find this place, you can use google map or waze to help you.The road we will pass is rough and the local people from Bukit Jaddih collect fees for Rp 5.000,- .
Here, you will find machines and truck due to mining activities that still active. The tourist usually take a picture in this place because it's surrounded by beautiful white limestone cliffs. You also can find Goa Pote- pond in the middle of the hill so visitors can swim there .In Bukit Jaddih there is a cave which was the Japanese heritage.
You will not find a place to eat here like other tourist attraction so you better have lunch first. Speaking about lunch, there is a famous restaurant "Bebek Songkem" , they sell the best fried duck with affordable price. It is very hot and dusty in Bukit Jaddih.
Tips:
- If you decide to drive a car, it is better to use a high car because the cliff are stiff and the road are rocky. Car like sedan car won't be able to go up the hill because aside from the less powerful engine, the road are impossible
- Wear mask and sunglasses to avoid the dust
- Use sunblock or jacket to protect your skin from UV light
- It is better to use shoes than slippers so you can walk on the sandy road comfortably
- You guys better come visit in the morning because it is very hot at noon
- The last, do not forget to bring camera to capture the beautiful view here

Place is beautiful. The ongoing mining of the mountain can create a dusty environment. The water is not as turquoise as it used to be. I think the algaes get a hold on it. Place has limited shades and can be very hot. Bring shade/umbrella or wear a hat. Put sunscreen and bring water. No long walking is needed. The landscape may change every year due to the constant mining of the area.

I find this place at web and as I had half day off in Surabaya, I decided to see it. As I was alone, I decided to rent hotel car with driver. The traffic at Surabaya side was terrible at saturday 1pm, it took 2hrs to get to this 50km far place. But when I get there, I liked it a lot. There were more possibilities to entrace, to see different parts of the attraction and they asked to pay entrance on each, it was 3time something between 0,5-1,2€ so not bad...they are still working at this place as it is old quarry. I would like to see how it will look like after maybe 3-5 years, when they finish. I reccommend to visit 👍

The road to go for Bukit Kapur Jaddih is small n narrow but you will find the way using google map. It is around 1.5 hours from Suramadu bridge.
It is nice place but so hot. Make sure you are wearing hat or umbrella.
You can try the ship by paying Rp5.000 each person. Enjoy the huge chalk hill and go to the cave. Nice scenery.

It’s different. You drive these small little roads following your gps and then it opens up to this big quarry. No real signage but after getting out and walking around we found the hidden carved pools and caves. They also have a big pool to swim in close by.

This location is located just 1 hour drive from Surabaya. Access to this place is very bad. The road is narrow and deserted. There were some criminal cases in this location that target motorcyclists (begal motor), but for those of you who drive a car do not have to worry. If the weather is hot, then you will feel the extraordinary heat when you are here. Use sunblock and face mask.
Entrance ticket for car is Rp. 10,000, and you need to pay again to get into the main places like Bukit Kapur and the lake. Usually, they will take a double profit by raising the ticket price, so be careful.
I don't think there's anything interesting about this place. If the Madurese government wanted to fix this place into a good and safe tourist spot, surely this place would be very popular because in fact this place is a hidden tourist attraction. The direction to this place is also very lacking, so I just rely on GPS only.
Once was enough. I won't come back if there's no improvement from the local government.
For western tourists, you can rent a car or motorbike to get to this place, or can also take a tour that provided by some trusted tour agencies in Surabaya.

Drove from Surabaya. Worth the trip. Not a lot to do, but it's fun to walk around in the quarry and take a short raft ride in the lake at the bottom. The view from the top of the quarry is pretty amazing, too.

Beautiful scenery as the dredging of limestone hills for years. Isn't it a destruction of the environment?

Hi! any advice on an affordable way for 5 pax to travel from Surabaya city there? Recommendations for MPV drivers / 1 day tour groups would be great.
