Great skiing but some green runs could be classified blue, and some blue runs could be classified black. Compared to Silverstar, the runs and the skiing is much better at Silverstar.

While the east side of the mountain offers great slopes for families and seniors, the west ridge area is much more advanced offering long, steep runs. There are lots of good places to eat. I won't give my favourite as it is getting too crowded...More

We've just returned from our third year skiing at Big White and the powder was awesome. We were mildly disappointed to only get one "bluebird" day but that's the price you pay for powder. In fact, a couple of days had so much powder, I...More

WOW - we *loved* Big White! less than an hour from the airport. You can take a morning flight and catch a couple hours’ worth of runs not long after touching ground. The resort’s tag line is “It’s The Snow” and it's so true. Incredible...More

bringing food into Canada (7 Replies)
We are renting a condo at the Big White ski resort in BC and want to bring food for most of our meals. I know many fruits are problematic, but I can't find an answer to what other food we can or cannot bring across the border for personal consumption. Any ideas?

Hi Tculb3, We travel to the US a lot... and have found ourselves over the years in a similar circumstance... do we bring food with us or buy it there? The Border Services Guidelines (as printed) are very confusing on what is and isn't acceptable... (and quantities) and it is just such a hassle that we now just pack a cooler with things for the road (pop, water, snacks) and buy the rest of our food & liquor items when we arrive. Crossing the Border for home is always easier... you...More

Big White Ski Resort - Dining Options for Christmas Lunch (10 Replies)
We're having our first White Christmas and coming all the way from Australia to Big White. I've been trying to find menus and places that will be offering Christmas Lunch or Dinner, but have not been able to get any information at all either through our agent or via the net. Can anyone suggest where might be a good place to start, or where to eat for a nice family Christmas lunch/dinner at Big White Ski Resort? thanks in advance

Fast Food Outlets in Vernon, Kelowna area (5 Replies)
I am heading across to Silver Star Ski Resort and Big White Ski Resort and being from Australia we love trying out all the different fast food resorts. So can anyone tell me a list of the fast food places around this area. Thanks

fast food equates "too many" quick service food outlets in Okanagan. The Wendy's franshise operator in the O.K. is one of the best in Canada. He/his family run the majority of the stores in the Kelowna area - has recently built a new one enroute to Big White. . . . Population base is such that most/all fast food operators are represented throughout the Okanagan. Also - there are many other international franchise operators = "Outback Steakhouse" "Olive Garden" etc etc. "Local"...More
