About
An old rural house where all the spaces needed for survival are grouped under the same roof. The current shape is the result of an architectural evolution dating between 1680 and 1856. The three floor of the museum were renewed back to their original functions. You are welcome to enjoy an interactive tasting area and a store where you can buy gastronomical products linked to local food culture.

Maison Bruil is an ancient rural house, where all the spaces necessary for the survival of people and animals were grouped under one roof. The visit is carried out on three floors, in the floor below there are the stables and the various warehouses, on the ground floor there is the real house and finally on the top floor the barn and the rooms for the drying of cold cuts. Also interesting are the films that are shown. I recommend making the cumulative ticket for the foundation of the Gran Paradiso park

We came to Maison Bruil to buy tickets for the Grand Paradiso regional park and were offered a tour around Maison Bruil.

We were not disappointed, it is a beautiful tower displaying traditional methods to produce food, from cheese, a local sausage (bouduin), honey and local wines.

I found a video / movie of a wine producer in the area very interesting. He produced wines from carefully selected grape bunches, where the smaller grapes are removed by hand, on very steep hills in the Arvier area. Producing an Enfer d´Arvier. As it is a small, biologic or biodynamic producer I have not been able to find his wines in any shop.

We visited this house / museum with the Guide of Sonia (who deserves special praise for the competence, empathy and patience with which she accompanied and welcomed us) and it was very interesting, a dive into the life of our ancestors, with their knowledge. A truly beautiful experience, not at all boring, our 11-year-old son stormed our Guide with questions and curiosities. The visit ends with a small but delicious tasting of local products. We will definitely be back!

Unfairly little known, this beautiful example of rural architecture is certainly worth seeing. These are in fact two old houses (but don't think this is an understatement) then welded together, covering some alleys that were outdoors. Simply put: a little piece of the old country. It had practically become a refuge for the large family. Inside there was everything needed, on various levels, to survive the whole winter. Very beautiful and instructive: you can see how the daily activity was only aimed at taking care of supplies to have something to put on the table and survive the long periods of crop failure. It is located a few dozen meters from the Parc Animalier, in the small village across the road. The nice lady who welcomed us, very knowledgeable, gave us a tablet to leaf through like a book and we enjoyed a nice journey into the past... too forgotten. Go there and you won't regret it. One of the most beautiful things we saw on our short holiday.
