This is one of the most meaningful places to which I have ever traveled! It was one of the most important stops during my pilgrimage to Jordan and Israel. I was baptized in the Jordan River! What a remarkable and moving experience for me. One...More

I suppose it's inevitable, but this place was too commercial for us. No real area to sit and reflect. I like that there was no charge to enter, and loved seeing Mark 1:9-11 written in so many of the world's languages. Many people have amazing...More

We got to Yardenit before all the tour buses arrived and it was perfect. The gift shop has a lot of nice souvenirs. When we walked out to the Jordan river we went to the right where there was a couple of benches. This was...More

This was a pleasing and picturesque site that is very meaningful to the Christian Pilgrims. We saw many people being baptized while we were there. It was nice that they could have this experience under supervision and professional management. The spot is not too far...More

To be baptized in the Jordan River - what a wonderful experience for some of the members of our group! While I personally did not get baptized there, several members of our group did, and I was able to help them. There are locker-room-type changing...More

This beautiful, quiet spot on the Jordan River is the perfect place for a baptism or rededication. Bring your own pastor, or they provide one. They also provide a towel and robe and showers. Bring your own soap, shampoo and hair dryer.

Religious people know the place and bus loads from all over the world come for (second) baptismal. Worth watching in any case.

This is a very interesting place. Somewhere on the Jordan River John the Baptist baptised Jesus. I am curious about why the water was so green. There were a lot of fish in the water. It was very beautiful.

After the inevitable gift shop which peddle the same stuff almost anywhere in Israel, one is pleasantly surprised by the oasis and Jordan River with lots of leafy trees and shade and a beautiful greenish river, not more than 20 feet wide which offers multiple...More

I personally did not enter the changing rooms, so I cannot answer that question. However, the travelers in our group who did go in the water came out with wet hair when they changed clothes.

Yes... just step in and have water poured over your hands or head. This is what we did in January.

Seeking for commends on our April trip please (15 Replies)
We, a couple, are planning our first Israel trip and we are Christian. We hope the experts here can give us commends and help us to do a better planning. Thank you and here is our rough planning: (Apr 1,2)Will arrive around noon and start visiting the city of Tel Aviv and sleep at Tel Aviv (Apr 3) pick up the rental car and heading north, planning to visit Caerea, Haifa and Akko(if time allow) then sleep at Haifa (Apr 4) Visit Akko (if we don’t have time to do the day before) and then...More

I doubt that you will be able to do more than Ceasarea and Haifa in one day - save Akko for the next day - you may also want to consider spending the night in Akko and not Haifa - you will avoid the morning traffic that way and make better use of your time. There are plenty of other options that you may enjoy better than staying in Tiberias - there are any number of lovely kibbutz hotels in the area and since you will have a car it is a simple matter to go out to dinner in the evening from...More

Which of these two day tours is better for the sights in the north? There is a nominal price difference betweeen the two tours. I have contacted drivers but I find the cost too high for a solo traveller and I am not willing to rent a car and drive around. I am open to suggestions. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks. Here are the two tour itineraries:- This is the United Tours Itinerary:- Day 1: Visit Nazareth and the Church of the Annunciation. On to Capernaum on the shores...More

There is no right or wrong. United takes you to the Golan, Egged doesn't. While in an ideal world--I"ld like you to do both -:), since that isn't an option I think I would stick with Egged. You are doing more basic things that United misses.
