We visited here as part of another trip we were on, and had seen pictures of the waterfalls on the telly and in pictures and it looked stunning. This is were they filmed the timotay advert for the shampoo. We arrived with our rep and took through the area which you can go right up to the top and then... More

With the family (kids of 6 and 3 included) up to explore this "waterfall". Very crowded and for the Spanish people, too cold!!! We went all the way up and there it was just for "the bravest" as it was less crowded. We enjoyed the day trip and would advise to go there. But take a day, when it is... More

We went to see the waterfalls thinking we would get to a swim in some waterfalls. However, it was a lot more exciting as it was a bouldering experience the further up the mountain you went. We had to swim under rocks and continuously climb our way around. Make sure you bring suitable footwear that can get wet and help... More

We visited this local beauty spot yesterday. Paid 3 euros to park, then quite an uphill walk to the Waterfalls. Many tourist shops and restaurants along the walk. Got to the falss to be at the end of a very long queue . The falls and surrounding areas were absolutely rammed full. We decided not to pay the 5 euros... More

It is a really beautiful place to visit but far too many people are allowed in at one time.We did visit in the busy season though so this may not be the case before or after the summer months. I would suggest going early in the morning or later on in the day once all the crowds have dispersed. It... More

We visited the falls on a warm summer day and truly enjoyed the scenes. Especially the "Cave" on the lower level was stunning - the water was clean however a bit cloudy, but very refreshing to swim in. With the sun falling into the cave and the water falling from above this was absolutely worth the trip. When there do... More

This place is better in the winter and spring when the water is in full flow. Sometimes in the summer it is not so dramatic. There are beautiful waterfalls and some lakes for swimming. It is not a place for thrill seekers or those who need to have rides and entertainment but it is very beautiful. We go there a... More

If you're in the area then this is a must!!! It's such a cheap day out and swimming around the fresh water pool were incredible! Lots of different pools to chose from but be aware that the steps are fairly steep! Go and check it out for yourself

I took advantage of David's Coachtrips extremely competitive prices for a day at the Algar Falls. Not only are the falls themselves absolutely stunning, but we had a fantastic day of leaping into the waters and swimming through them. Be warned: the water is very cold, but we found this extremely refreshing on a very hot Mediterranean day. The food... More

These natural waters are so refreshing and beautiful. To get the full experience you need to have footwear suitable for the water - not flipflops that will just come off in the running water. The rocks are slippy and some of the pools are quite deep. There is a pool for jumping in which is popular. Lots of stairs to... More
