Not that the market is anything special in itself. The uniqueness is the proximity to the railway track and how the street vendors nonchalantly pull back the awnings, some displays near the railway track when the train passes by, and putting it back after that....More

The famous Maeklong railway market is absolutely delightful chaos. We arrived just a minute or two before the train passed through. Watching vendors scurry to remove their wares from the track and be packed in like a sardine on the platform with other tourists trying...More

Better go early in the morning, caz it will be so crowded. この頃の中国人観光客増加で ものすごい人となります。 なので早めにいければ行きましょう。ホテルを7時に出れば 8:30メークロン到着の電車が見れます。 場合によっては、途中から電車に乗るのもおすすめ。 Take a train that would go to Meklon station. It might be difficult to go by your own we arranged a tour. ここも将来的にはDamnoen Saduak みたいな観光客目当ての場所になるのかと思うと少し悲しい.

Make sure you know the latest timetable to avoid wasting time waiting in between arrival and departure time. It is basically like its namesake, real functioning daily market on the railway track. Try to be there around 10 minutes earlier to position yourself at the...More

This was the first thing we did in Thailand and it’s worth the time driving there. They’re really quite mad and although very touristy it is brilliant!

The seasoned traveler may tire of street markets that seem to offer the same old same old from town to town. However, this is just next level! It is about 3 hours by train from BKK or about an hours drive, so I do suggest...More

Incredible how the train passes by the market. The vendors are quick at setting up for the train to pass by and after as well. The transformation is surreal! We enjoyed a delicious fresh watermelon icee while watching the transformation take place. Amazing experience!

Amazing to watch the coexistence of this local Thai market with the railway schedule. The market has great fresh fruits, vegetables, fish, spices, fried fruits and more. We bought the most delicious rose apples and dried mangos from this market. The tourist draw is that...More
