Visited after a recommendation, what a great little beach.
Not overcrowded like St Andrews often is, free parking for the first couple of hours and after that very cheap. Good facilities with both a food shack and very clean toilets.
One thing to watch is the road, while it has plenty of passing places a couple of the corners are a bit interesting when someone comes the other way.

Facilities have smartened up since a visit a few years ago. You can now park for 2 hours for free ( still need to get a timed ticket from the parking machine to put on your dash). Thereafter it’s £2 for the day. Camper vans etc it’s £10 overnight. However, I’m assuming this money is funding the provision of the newish much needed public toilets at this site, which were clean and equipped with loo roll. (No sinks in which to wash your hands, but never mind!). There is a covered area to shelter if it’s raining, too, and a couple of picnic tables.

The beach goes on for miles, soft sand. Great for rockpooling when the tide is out, but beware of the hidden rocks once the tide comes in. Please, please put your rubbish in the bins provided or take it home.

This 2 mile long sandy beach is bordered with grassy dunes sprinkled with wildflowers, and fringed with intriguing rock formations - some of which are the remnants of a lush forest that grew here in the late Carboniferous period 310 million years ago. If you know what you’re looking for , plant and insect fossils and tracks can be found here, some in situ. It’s a designated Blue Flag bathing area, and the water is amazingly translucent in places. There’s a spacious ticketed car-park, public toilets and a snack shack, plus as it’s part of the Fife Coastal Path , you can stretch your legs for as long or short as you like.

Kingsbarns Beach is our favourite beach in Fife.Normally a porta cabin toilet is available which is usually closed early afternoon when most people need to use it.Today there is NO porta cabin toilet so we had to cut short our trip.
Fife Council needs a kick up the backside.
We are being encouraged to help the economy by visiting locally.
No chance until proper facilities are put in place.

An excellent beach with a mix of rocks, sand dunes, rock pools and pebble beach. There is a small geological trail when one heads north, and if one heads south you eventually (after around 15 minutes) come to the 15th hole on Kingsbarns golf course, which is entertaining if you see high handicap golfers firing their golf balls straight into the sea when failing to make the green!. A nice snack shack next to the car park. Due to Summer 2020 staycations this was the busiest that I have ever seen it, but it was still a very relaxing visit, with none of the idiots, litter and selfishness that one would get if visiting somewhere like Bournemouth (heaven forbid).

Fabulous clean beach, ideal for families and dog owners. However, the car park attendant needs to be replaced. He is patronising, entitled, rude and has no social skills. His impatience with drivers parking and leaving the carpark is off the scale. My advice, arrive early, park up and ignore the attendant.

Had a lovely visit, we all enjoyed rock pooling, as the beach has a fair amount of rocks mostly covered with seaweed. We noticed the sea came in fairly rapidly and carefully made a swift exit. Definitely return if we are visiting the area again.

This really is a splendid beach with both great sandy beach and rock pools. Good for both swimming and sandcastle making. It has its own generous car park, the Fife coastal path and Kingsbarns golf course in situ. So a brilliant location with good views.

The Toastie shack was in operation today and quite busy. But sadly there are no toilets back in operation yet. This really is a great shame. Please reinstate them soon!

We had a lovely visit to Kingsbarn Beach, a little further than a usual trip to St Andrew's but so worth it.

Beautiful sandy beach, lovely clear blue water and the sun shining ...... you could easily feel that you were on a continental beach.

The verdict from our Labrador .... she loved it ❤

A special mention as well for the Toastie Shack at the car park ...... a very tasty lunch and coffee was an added bonus.

Stunning beach and we were fortunate to visit on a sunny day!

It's a bit further out from St Andrews so didn't find it overly busy, but would recommend to park at the Golf Club (not sure if it's allowed) and walk down through the coastal path.

Incredible views across the sea
