The Espace Killy is a fantastic ski region providing two resorts for the price of one with Tignes being interconnected with Val d’Isere. This was my second time in Val d’Isere and both occasions I had the most incredible, breathtaking holiday. The scenery is immense, the town is immaculate, and the memories are cherished. There are a huge number of ski hire providers and the resort is fairly self explanatory in terms of navigation. A huge collection of pistes for all skill levels exists and plenty of bars, restaurants and Cocoricos provide all the entertainment you need for Apres Ski!

Have been to other places but return to this place as it simply is the best and there are never lack of snow. Most of the lifts have been updated. The area is very large and you can do day trips without using the slopes twice. The area contains numerous restaurants both self-service and more exclusive ones.

It’s big, the lift system
Is pretty good, the selection of runs is great. Lots of restaurants and bars for all tastes and budgets. Yes the lift ticket is not cheap but you get what you pay for. Snow is guaranteed. My favourite ski resort which I guess also makes it my favourite place.

I've been going to the Espace Killy for over thirty years, on and off. There is no doubting the extent of the ski area, which, as other correspondents have said, is massive and varied.
Having just returned, having not been for about four seasons, I have to say that I was disappointed with the quality, or lack thereof, of the lift system. There are lifts still in use that I remember from 30 years ago! Particularly in Tignes, but also Val D'Isere, there are quite a few really old three and four man slow, ungeared chair lifts, where significant queues develop. It's not helped by constantly stopping and slowing down, and the lifties letting chairs go up which are not full, but that seems to be the French way! They replaced the old Aeroski 10 person stand up gondola lift in Tignes with a new 10 person gondola - vanity project, or was it genuinely clapped out? There are areas of the Tignes lift system that would have benefitted from improvements, before the Aeroski! There is a fantastic new gondola out of Val, to the Solaise area, which was long overdue, but the old lifts on Solaise cannot cope with the extra uplift from the town, so there are big queues and empty seats there too.
I spent a week in Austria in January this year, in the Saalbach area, where the lifts were modern with heated seats and weather protection covers, which didn't stop every five minutes, and very few, if any, queues and a considerably cheaper ticket.
I absolutely love the Espace Killy area, and hate to say this, but I go there to ski, not stand in a queue, or sit on a stopped, ancient chairlift, so I regret that, until I read of major improvements to the lift system, I will not be returning. This resort is living on it's faded past glory, and not supplying a 21st century product, although charging as though it is.

In snow shortage this is the spot. Awesome variety and quality. Very easy to move around the resorts due to good facilities.

I have visited Val d'isere three times and will visit again in January/February 2017. I stayed in Val d'isere but purchased a ski pass that covered the whole of the L'Espace Killy area (mainly Val & Tignes).

The ski area is huge and offers a wide variety of all kinds of slopes, from beginner slopes to expert slopes. Each time I have been there I have been very lucky with both the weather and the snow conditions, even though it might get very cold late in January.

There is also very good opportunities for offpiste skiing, often just steps out the slopes.

There are quite a good number of decent restaurants in the mountains as well, I will recommend L'Edelweis for food and Le Foulie Douche for afterski fun.

All in all my favorite ski destination, very much recommended.

Booked a week skiing in Tigne le Lac with a L'Espace Killy ski pass to explore beyond Tignes into Val D'Isere. There are enough pistes with varying degrees of runs to keep most skiers interested for a week. I did have a couple of flat days this time, which was a shame, but apart from that the week was great.
