Unbelievable experience. Julien at Atypik was the perfect host. We were a family of 8 but the raft only holds 6 so the 2 dad's were in their own Kayaks which was a brilliant adventure by itself. Julien made the whole experience so much fun from start to finish. He was very thorough with safety briefing but ensured we laughed all the way down. The kids said it was the best experience they have had, and I agree. The photos taken were amazing also and recommend buying them for the price. We went on the 6pm excursion and the sun and lighting of the sky along with the higher water level meant it was perfect. Apparently other rafting companies don't go out that late which is insane as it's a beautiful time to be rafting but also made it a lot quieter so we had the place to ourselves. Don't hesitate, book Atypik today!

I was hugely nervous about doing the white water rafting but it was brilliant fun. There is such a lack of water due to the weather that there wasn’t much white water but the instructor made sure we had a lot of fun. Stopping to encourage us to jump off a 5m rock surprised me but it was in.
If you are an adrenaline junkie I would give it a miss but if you want to spend a couple of hours In a beautiful setting having fun I would strongly recommend.

Thanks to Ludo and the guys for a fantastic trip down the Giffre.
Enjoyed the rafting and a swim.
Nice cliff jump that my son thought was the highlight of his trip.

There were 8 of us so we split into 2 rafts of 4 with an Atypik guide steering each raft. There was plenty of water in the river but Ludo took us safely through the 7km Classic run including the gorge, with a couple of stops to do some jumping in the river. I'd done this last year choosing the Extreme option without a Atypik steersman and spent more time in the river than on the raft. A great way to spend a couple of hours and Ludo was a good sport and a laugh. Watch out for the Cleggs/Horseflies which are prolific on the river so cover up and use lots of repellent.

We’ve now been rafting with four of the companies in the village over the years and found ludo and the boys this year. Brilliant day, as much smaller operation with a family feel, rather than one or two of the others who seem to ram and stack their clients high! We had a fantastic morning with ludo who is the gentlest giant in town! Laughed all the way from sixt to samoens!!! See you again very soon!

Really enjoyable rafting experience! Very safe and well run, not much waiting around which always happens at these places, the team were super friendly.
The rapids themselves were excellent, and swimming and jumping in at the gorge was truly a memorable experience!!!

A big thank you to Ludo and his team! Professionals who know perfectly this beautiful river "the gifre"! They always have great ideas to exploit the daily changes in the watercourse. With them, each session is totally different but still very amazing and sensational! See you soon, Francois.

Atypik is a really small organisation, in contrast to some of the other rafting companies around Samoens, and Ludo is a friendly, entertaining guide.
Me, my husband and my two children (ages 8 and 11) booked a rafting trip with Atypik in August 2016. We shared the raft with a group of three other people and with Ludo.
We had a really fun, exciting morning. Ludo steered the raft to give us an exciting sense of risk but we never felt really in danger. We really enjoyed the gorge and getting out of the boat to float down the fast water in our life vests.
The trip was no problem for my 8-year-old. Ludo sat him alongside him at the back of the boat and was visibly protecting him where he thought it might be necessary.
We also got some great photos of the trip courtesy of the Atypik photographer, who positioned herself at strategic points along the journey.

I was here in mid July 2015, it was very hot, so what a perfect way to spend a few hours with my wife and boys.
Ludo was our guide, good fun but also very experienced and professional, felt safe throughout the trip down the river.
The river was low when we were there but I can imagine the route being very exciting when the melt water is fast and plentiful.
Do not let low water put you off, this was still a great trip, we went down Rapids and jumped off the sides of the ravines, from height into the water. Our boys loved it!
We had a great time and would definitely do it again. Very reasonable price also, I think it worked out at about £25 each from memory.

Had a great afternoon spent on the river, we had a bit of rain previous day and the water was flowing quick!! Our guide ludo was a great chap, spoke good English and is fun to be around. Would highly recommend atypik as a company and will use again in the future. I have family that live in samoens (mark & Jo-Anne entwistle) and no doubt be out next year and do white water rafting again!
