Fresh air and fantastic view

Easy drive up and good parking facilities. The best you can do after that is to get out of the car and take a hike for a couple of hours. Pretty easy hikes and very well marked. The view is magic. If you have the opportunity bring your lunch and sit down in the grass and watch Mt Blanc and the mountains. I can't guarantee that the sun is shining but if it does the view is so worth the effort.

An Impressive Climb.... to start with.

Its a great drive from either side. I prefer south to north. Its all a bit cow bell and cow skins at the top with lots of don't park here signs. Just park, get a picture or two the move on Annecy is only 45 mins away.....

Lovely chapel

Cute little chapel, typical of the French alps.
Very intimate, nice that it is always open (in my opinion) and anyone who needs it can put a card here.

A must see on a clear sunny day
Jul 2017
Worth the trip to enjoy gorgeous view of Mont Blanc in the distance.
The road is very busy though, with bicycles, motorbikes, minivans, trailers of all kind. Drive cautiously and safely there to fully enjoy the view .

Stunning summer or winter, so long as there are few clouds!
May 2017 • Family
Catch it when the weather is good and this is stunning. The highlight is the view of Mont Blanc, and l'Etale is imposing as it stands proud of one side of the Col. There's an interesting and alpine-themed (though overpriced) giftshop and you can grab something to eat. There's also a nice little chapel to visit. Parking can be a struggle in the summer, but worth hanging on for a space! Recommended, but try to pick a day when there isn't much cloud!

Wonderful views of the Mt. Blanc range

On an fine day, this is a great place to view Mt. Blanc and have a nice lunch. On the weekend when the weather is good, you need to book ahead if you want a meal.

Stunning views, good ammenities.

We drove to Col des Aravis and on to Col de la Croix Fry from Annecy, it’s certainly worth the trip. The view is stunning and there are a lot of amenities – a lovely, tiny church, several bars, restaurants and shops. The drive up is also lovely. Col de la Croix Fry isn’t just as stunning, but it’s still lovely and isn’t far from Col des Aravis, so worth a side trip.

Great viewpoint stop for a meal, shop, walk or nights stay.

Nice mountain pass with more than the usual facilities on offer.
Extremely good hotel and restaurant. Smaller bar/restaurant further along and a larger bar/ brasserie/restaurant also. A couple of gift shops, a small chapel and a farm just off the road selling local Reblechon cheese, butter and goats cheese well worth a small walk from the car park - and of course the views which are magnificent.
