It;s a great place to snowboard and free ride. The infrastructure is amazing - lots of pistes and great services, the views are unbelievable and it is impossible to get bored due to so much diversity. The Pic Blanc absolutely must visit and Le Sarenne - the Europe's longest piste!

Have skied here twice and this is one of my favourite ski destinations, The Pic Blanc Run is Very Long, Testing and very rewarding. The nightlife might not be up there with Vall or St Johann but it has great bars, restaurants and access to high altitude and snow sure conditions. Ideal for all capabilities and all. A drop into... Probably more facilities in the town itself than most resorts I've been to, with lots of bars and restaurants to choose between and a cinema and a bowling alley if you fancy something different but the all important bit, the slopes, were disappointing. Don't get me wrong there are some good runs for all levels but they don't seem to... More

We spent a week skiing in Alpe d'Huez. We are beginner/intermediate level skiers and found lots of green and blue runs to explore. The weather was good overall, with a couple of beautiful sunny days. The ESF ski school we attended was also excellent and our instructor, Lily, gave us the advice and confidence we needed to improve our skills.... More

As with most of France it's really expensive 7 euro for beer food on the slopes is expensive 15-18 euro for a pizza I wasn't prepared to pay that. Facilities in town are good ski area is ok but don't be fooled about the area they boast on the map half of it is only accessible and if you go... More

Cost of lift pass for pedestrian and reasonable long wait for lift was worthwhile for fantastic views. Need a coffee / vin chaud at the top though!!!!

Alpe d'Huez offers some excellent skiing. There is a wide variety of terrain so it will suit all levels of ability. It also benefits from the Pic Blanc glacier, so later on in the season you can still find decent snow, where it might be slushier further down. It is also not a bad place to go for people who... We came with 3 children. There are plenty of green runs and bleu runs. There was snow on the Wednesday which made the snow much easier. I skied the Serenne with my husband when children were in ski school. This is the longest black run in Europe but only the top part is difficult and with fresh snow not too... More

We went at the end of Jan 16 and there was enough snow, but it was melting fast due to high temperatures. Nothing the piste bashers could do about that however they did a good job in keeping as much as possible open and in good condition. Great to learn and for kids. I found it limiting with no off...
