About
This beautiful mountain lake has been created for the enjoyment of swimming in clear, pure water, with no chemical products. The water is naturally purified by a variety of plants and is heated by the sun rays, with temperatures reaching up to 26°C. Pay attention: No telephone reservation Only swimming trunks. Long swimming trunks are not allowed. In a breath-taking setting facing Mont-Blanc, Combloux lake has been the first ecological lake opened to bathing in France. The lake is filled with water sourced from the local drinking water network and is naturally heated by the sun rays. More than 10,000 plants and a gently running cascade ensure the highest quality of water to the 1500 m² of swimming area. A special flooring helps saving the natural heat of the sun to keep the water's temperature between 19 and 26°C. With a maximum depth of 1.80m and an access via a gentle slope into the water, Combloux ecological lake is the ideal place to spend time with your family. The lake itself i

Fabulous swimming place
Jul 2020
You pay only 5 EU pp per day and you can leave and return. That's what we did. The water is clear, changing and pretty warm (around 23 at the time of our stay). While swimming you see the majestic Mont Blanc-the view is surreal.

Affordable way to spend your day
Aug 2018 • Family
Be careful the lake might be closed because of water quality on some occasions. Just call in ahead of time.

Restaurants available nearby.

Must do in Megève to freshen up during the summer.

Mountain lake swim
Aug 2017 • Family
Took our 2Gransons 10 &13 for a weeks break in the Alps , forget beach holidays , St Gervais has the lot 31 degree sunny days . The lake is fantastic fed from the pure mountain melting snow, swimming surrounded by snow capped mountains is surreal . The lads absolutely adored the obstacle course alla "it's a knockout " . Any family looking for activity holiday . Mountain walks , Mountain biking , white water rafting., etc etc can't beat St Gervais as a location . The only downside , the value of £ makes everything expensive , so recommend go self catering and avoid eating out as it will kill your budget .

A walk round the lake
Mar 2017 • Family
As we came down the steps, we saw an eagle hovering at our eye level. Sure it was out over the valley but it was much closer than one usually sees them and we could distinguish its beautiful dark red and brown feathers with touches of white. The lake was surrounded by spring flowers. The facilities were closed but it was still a nice walk round it and we looked at the rocks and plants in the cleansing biotope section and saw lots of tadpoles.

The lake is encircled with mountains and orientation table shows the how to pick out Mont Rouge, Mont Vert, Mont Noir and of course the Mont Blanc.

then there is the great adventure playground with all sorts of wooden structures to climb, scrambling nets and look out posts as well as swings. Parents can sit in the sunshine while the children play happily.

In the summer it can be crowded with people sunbathing and picnicking, but on a lovely spring day, it was peaceful and still. A really nice, short excursion.

Great spending of your day

While temperatures were tropical, what better to do then get yourself towards a swimming pool. It is called a lake but pond would be more appropriate as it is completely man-made. The surrounding scenery is extraordinary, the entry prices acceptable (€5 adults, €4 child) and the complete setup shows a good management and proper maintenance. Staff is very friendly.

Again, a great opportunity to cool down on a warm day. With 19 degrees the water makes sure only die-hards will be so bold and go for a swim. It is not completely algae free, but still pretty clear.

Peaceful and fun
Apr 2015 • Family
Beautiful views, so peaceful and serene and no fee to pay (we did not swin in the lake), what else could you ask for? There was hardly anyone there when we visited, we put all our stuff on a picnic bench whilst the children rode their bikes. The adults ended up laying on the grass, chatting and taking in the view whilst the kids discovered a play area past an incline. So much to keep everybody occupied, clean, great for taking photos, close to town if you need supplies and just a great attraction to visit.

It's hard to describe what a wonderful spot the Combloux Lac is but for about €5 per person you get to swim in a very unusual man made lake while looking up at the snowy peaks of Mont Blanc. And no, it is not heated. But the lake is one thing, there is a sauna there, a hammam, you can have a massage, there is a lovely shaded restaurant that will not break the bank.

But the lake and its huge enormous view is what takes your breath away each time. That said, if you are a large group it would be wiser and a lot cheaper to head to the lake at Passy.
