We went to dinner twice in August. Once with my family and the second time we brought friends, also with kids .This is really charming place. The terrace, the surroundings, the animals around, the rusty western/ranch type of items in the exterior. The adults can have some good uninterrupted time enjoying good food, drinks and company (the table wine is great btw), while the kids run around and explore the surroundings. The atmosphere is relaxing and If you’re lucky you could also see flamingos from really close by. Ubb

We were welcomed at arrival with refreshments, then a very interesting tour in the Manade with explanations about the life of the bulls and traditions of Camargue. We then returned for a very nice meal. We really enjoyed the day.

A great experience was a visit to this out of the way (dirt road) ranch near Aigues-Mortes where prize winning bulls are bred. These are special bulls, raised specifically for the Camargue area bull fighting events. Unlike Spain, here the bulls are not killed; instead several young men in top athletic form chase the bull in an attempt to remove a ribbon from the horns. It's a dangerous sport that has men and bulls jumping around, chasing one another, and even leaping out of the ring to relative safety. I say this because a nimble bull can leap also, and sometimes making it to the outside the ring is not a safety guarantee if there's a healthy young bull successfully jumping in pursuit. There is a lot of prize money involved in this kind of bull 'fighting' and despite the dangers, the competitors seem to love what they do. We watched a film before going out onto the field and saw how the bull fighting is done and the top notch skills that the bull fighters have. We were taken in a wagon pulled by a tractor (and driven by the matriarch of the family who owns the farm) into a large field. There were a few dozen black bulls grazing and watching us. While we were there a couple of family members and their neighbors entered the field on horseback and proceeded to cull half a dozen bulls they considered to be the best specimens for the future ring events. It was impressive how they approached the animals, used a little psychology to get the selected ones to move apart from the herd, and how respectful and kind they were in working their horses and the bulls. It was a wonderful afternoon and one of the most unusual experiences I had in France.

A fantastic way to learn about Camarguaise bull fighting, which is very different from the Spanish version & doesn't involve killing the bull. In fact the bulls are the celebrities. Mr & Mme Linsolas are passionate about their manade & the bulls and we learnt loads about the subtleties of the sport & the breeding & management of the bulls. We were taken to see the super stars! The meal was fantastic. When we went the talk was in French, not sure if there is ever an English version. However, if you can just about understand it is well worth a visit
