I went there out of the touristic season, and even though there were more people than I would have expected, it was not crowded. We had time to check the ex-voto collection on the walls, and read the various explanation given. Worth to see.

When considering visiting a small town it is sometimes difficult to pick out the highlights that make it worth a visit. This little church is just such a highlight. Go up onto the roof for an adventure for 8 to 12 year old children. Climb...More

The church is just nice, but if you go to the roof you can enjoy a lovely sight on the Saintes Marie de la Mere area.

Too many tourists just gawking at the sacred icons. This is a place of worship and should be respected.

Nice church with the crypt built in 1449. You can also buy a ticket to access the rooftop for a nice view!

Legend has it that 3 women came here by boat, all called Marie: Maria Magdalena, Maria Salomé and Maria Jacobé. This is the only church I have seen with a wheal inside! Take your time and explore the little streets around, it is charming.

I recommend going on a Sunday late morning/early afternoon. It is interesting to be there during mass. Read about the history and traditions before you go if you aren't already familiar, as it will add to your experience. During my first visit, the crypt was...More

This is a very cool church. It looks like a giant sandcastle looming over the village from a distance, but when you get up closer, it looks like a fortress. This church was built before architects had worked out the issue of windows being a...More
