This is definitely one of the most beautiful spots in and around La Ciotat. Great for swimming and snorkeling, and the bar/restaurant behind it is good for morning coffee, lunch or dinner. The best strategy: come early in the morning and enjoy the clear water and beauty of the place before the mass of people arrive!

Of the few beaches we visited, we preferred this one. At the top on the street there is a small (paid) car park, as well as (paid) parking on the street itself. Reach the bay (Calanque) by way of steps straight from the car park. There is a small restaurant near the bottom. The beach is stoney, take water shoes. Because it is closed in by the cliffs, it is a calm place for swimming in the clear water, and is great for snorkeling with plenty of fish to see,There are also shady spots to be had. It can be busy, but not crowded, at least when we were there.

This is a great place to visit and enjoy the sea and specific rocks. It can get really crowded during the July-August, thus destroying the experience. Best is to go there on April-June and September-October.
Climbing some rocks on the heights can give you unique places to read a book.

Yes, it's a long way down to the beach here at Figuerolles (and back up again!) so this may mean that some folks just can't make it; but if you can do the climbs, swimming here is a real experience. The small horseshoe beach is always going to be crowded and there are no facilities (shower, toilets etc) but there is a small cafe at the foot of the steps. The beach itself is stony not sand but it's all about the rocks. The views are spectacular and the water crystal clear. There is a bus from central La Ciotat, info at the Gare Routiere. Quite an experience compared with your average bathing beach.

Came here last year and wanted to go to the Calanque d'En-vau this year, but the walking paths were closed due to the fire risk. So we "settled" by coming back here again this year. It's easy enough to get to (parking can be hit or miss nearby, but not bad with a little walk if you can't get in to the small parking lot right at the entrance). My preteen boys loved climbing on the rock cliffs and swimming to the island. I expect that if we come again, we will eventually do some jumping off the cliffs into the water from higher up (last year we jumped from about 10 feet up, but some teenagers were jumping from about 30 feet). This year the wind was up and the waves were too large for any of us to want to try to do any jumping. The beach is rocky and not large and can be crowded, but it wasn't horrible.

But you might want to bring some water shoes...the 'beach' is just stones and rocks. Otherwise a gorgeous little Calanque.

Access is easy with car (enough parking space, but with fee) and a 3 min. walk, clear water (quite fresh) great for diving or paddling, but half the day in shadow. Beach with pebbles (no sand), so not the greatest comfort for sun bathing except you´ve got a bed or chair with you. The small restaurant nearby (I guess also with rooms) is ok. The view to the rocks is great.

Beautiful hidden gem in La Ciotat. It's better to visit during the day as it gets cold when the sun goes down behind the rocks!
