A visit to the beach in Calais is turning into a regular occurrence. 5 minutes from the ferry, nice and sandy. Worth it for a brief stop before setting off on your journey ahead. Amazing how close the ferries appear to be from the beach.

We stopped at the Calais Beach and found a long expanse of clean sand, and a breezy seascape. We were able to watch the ferries coming in, and to sit on a bench and enjoy the winter afternoon. Parking was easy and the walk to the beach short and direct. We were pleasantly surprised by its calm and ease of... More

Lovely clean sandy beach. Being from Dover it is quite a contrast from what I am used to. May have to revisit during the summer months to take advantage of this lovely beach.

A clean sandy beach that due to the time of year was very quite. However lovely for a quick brisk walk.

If you get the weather, this beach equals any. Generous portion icecreams sold in nearby icecream vans. There are little cafe close by and it is interesting to watch the ferries crossing the channel. It is safe also with lifeguards being on hand. Lovely little beach huts form a background.

Too many beach huts and too near the ferry terminal. Having said that, it is as interesting to walk along the promenade as it is to walk along any promenade.

I was quite surprised at what a good beach this is, nice sand, lots of eateries, ample parking, & great views towards England! Good to visit on a Sunday, with markets and events making it a hive of activity. Some old style beach huts make it quite scenic.

Loved this beach as we weren't expecting it at all. We literally passed it on the way to our overnight hotel in Calais. We had to get out and go for a stroll. The beach was empty which was perfect and it felt mostly untouched with only a few other footprints in the wonderfully yellow sand. Would like to come... More
