It was very empty the day we went. Just your normal shopping centre with lots of shopping. Big shops of every kind. I did find it yo be quite expensive, probably more so than your average high street shops.

It is a fascination complex about 15/20 minutes gentle stroll from Place D'Armes. On the way to the lace museum have a wander around the town hall gardens and the impressive statue of the Six Burghers by Rodin. You can do as much as you like (no guides) but make sure you see the Nottingham built looms in operation.

The price for a ticket is really low, from 3.5 for discounted categories to 5 euro for everyone else. The most striking items in the exhibition are the huge machines dating back to the first years of 1900, which could produce lace in a fully automated and mechanical way, by receiving instructions through perforated cards. There is a 3D scanning... More

If you have some time to kill before a ferry this is a handy place with free parking and has a wide range of speciality shops, restaurants and a Hypermarket. There is also a bowling alley and amusement arcade to entertain kids and teenagers.

I discovered this location and convinced my boyfriend to go there. So we left from Lille on a nice May day and we arrived very well travelling by train. I spent a lot of time inside, reading and analysing every item, especially that I like and appreciate lace as a material. It is well done and it offers a lot... More

Large shopping Mall with Food Court, supermarkets and bowling alley. A large specialist wine shop with tasting bars and several specialist shops. Truly International as there were as many visitors as French residents. An ideal place to spend a couple of hours before a ferry or train and only 10 minutes from either.

A charming museum and I learned an awful lot - good local place to visit. Price is reasonable and the passion they feel for their product is inspiring. They make AMAZING quality stuff.

My husband loved the lace machines and I loved the lace and the clothes. Well designed museum with a lot of space, interesting exhibits and a wonderful museum shop. We also learned a lot about Calais which has an intriguing history. Lace machines were smuggled to Calais from Nottingham. Sad that Nottingham makes so little of its lace history whilst... More

This museum is easily recognised by the modern façade which is bolted on to an earlier structure, a lace-making factory that ceased to operate as such a few years ago. It is by the Quai du Commerce, about 4 or 5 blocks from the Place du Théâtre. The map on the publicity brochure is not very helpful unless you are... More
