What a building! The scale blew me away. We had just been to Sacre Coeur and Notre Dame and this was the most impressive by far. I had never seen such a high building. Take the tour of the clock - absolutely mind blowing

Wasn't really expecting this. A stunning gem which really is the jewel in the crown of this town. Magnificent stained glass and a turbulent history. Rather touched by the wooden supports training to take the weight of history - and masonry.

Pretty but smaller than we expected compared to Chartres cathedral where we live. I dislike modern stained glass but that's just me.

The cathedral is very big and beautifull and has a very touching story - it had fallen several times and rebuilt again.

The cathedral is huge probably one of the biggest in France. It is situated in the town center on the hill and visible mostly from all part of Beauvais. Strongly recommend to visit it .

The Beauvais Cathedral, the tallest in France, is just 100km north of Paris. We were dumbfounded when our eyes came face to face with this incredible unfinished cathedral. They ran out of money during the construction and the main nave is not there but it is so massive than you don't notice that half the cathedral is missing. We thought... More

You cannot but be overawed by the sheer size and fantastic workmanship that has made this cathedral absolutely STUNNING ! It is a shame that it is in need of some interior propping reinforcement but that takes little away from your impression. The astronomical clock is most fascinating. Whoever had the inspiration and the skills to design such a timepiece... More

We stopped in Beaufort for a quick overnight, but we had a chance to see the exterior at dusk, and the interior during the day. The nave of the cathedral was never built, so all that exists is the transept and apse, which makes it look odd from the outside - kind of like a stub of a cathedral. No... More

Great place to visit - it is maintained by the French government by obligation to keep it in its original state. It must cost a lot to maintain - optional donation to go in. Have to pay to see the clock. We donated to go in - shame everyone doesn't do that then maybe you wouldn't have to pay to... More
