We wanted to visit this sight and didnt know that you had to prebook tickets. When I walked in, the gentleman at the desk shot me a disgusted look as if I was an unwanted intruder rather than a potentially paying visitor. Instead of telling me „sorry, please book a ticket online“ he just said „No, no tickets“ and signaled me to leave the room. Not a way how to handle tourists that you ultimately depend on. I fully understand that tickets have to be booked, so this is not the issue. Sometimes it is just a smile and a polite interaction that makes the difference between a good and a bad impression.

Very interesting place with a lot of his works exposed, a dive into his " universe " through his house, books, furniture. Worth the visit !

It's worth a visit for the house alone. It's gorgeous. I wasn't particularly interested in Jules Verne, but obviously everyone knows a few of his novels. We got an audio guide for an extra fee, but some of it went on a bit! Unfortunately you probably need it as it does give you a bit of context. Worth a detour if you're in Amiens, it'll only take a couple of hours of your time.

Great opportunity to visit a rich mans house and see it as it may have been aoo years ago. Add to that an excellent insight into the life of Jules Verne and it is a must see in Amiens. Staff were helpful lending an English guide book to the house and exhibits.

Took my elderly mother to visit house- great staff. Had a wheelchair available and all floors accessible by lift with caring attentive staff. Interesting displays, bit quirky but learn a lot. Jules Verne a profligate writer. Recommend a visit allow 90 minutes.

As a fan of Jules Verne's science fiction from youth, the Maison de Jules Verne provided an interestingly nostalgic look at his life and work. The house itself is quite interesting, and the self-guided tour (via booklets in several languages), as well as the museum exhibits, provide insight to Verne's career.

I went for lunch on a Sunday afternoon and it was packed, this place is an absolutely institution and loved by the people of Amiens. If you love seafood and shellfish - you'll adore this place. Great big bowls of shellfish come from the specialist kitchen where you can watch the chef preparing the food, I had delicious sea bass and vegetables with a perfect crisp white wine under the watchful eyes of Jules Verne after whom the restaurant is named (he lived round the corner). Great service, friendly, and delicious!

sorry for my poor english ... you made a mistake, maybe. your post talk about the "Brasserie Jules" (that I know and appreciate too) and not about the "Maison de Jules Verne" that is (as well) an "institution" in Amiens and loved by the inhabitants ...

The house in which this author lived is a static exhibition of his possessions involving no a/v at all and at E7.50 per adult we thought it was quite expensive. Some of the exhibits were poorly displayed eg. the models in the attic were not adequately lit and the English guide was lacking in sufficient detail.
