First of all, if you’re English and your French is a bit rubbish, it’s probably easiest to go along and book rides in person. I think there is usually someone there in the afternoon from around 4:30. I tried to email beforehand but didn’t get a reply. The main lady that takes the bookings speaks pretty good English. The instructor’s English isn’t so good but we understood fine and it was just embarrassing that my school French is so poor! They were very friendly and tried their best. We took our 6 year old and 12 year old. The 6 year old doesn’t ride so she did a group ride in the pine forest with some games on the ponies which was really good fun. My older daughter who has riding experience got to lead the pony. My 12 year old did the trip through the pine forest onto the beach and into the sea, so it was bare back and bikini clad! It was a very cold morning but I don’t think she noticed. She had a fabulous time. It was a great experience which she is unlikely to repeat any time soon. Very memorable. I would really recommend this place. The horses/ ponies all looked well cared for.

We did the level 2 ride which is intermediate and was mainly walking with a few short trots and a brief canter. It was great fun in beautiful woodland and a walk along the beach in the sea. The horses were all well schooled and we felt safe (including the children age 9 and 10). There were different levels available for beginners if you wanted more cantering. There was also an opportunity to swim on the horses in the sea (but this was only for more advanced riders) Very good value for money 33 euros p/p for a 90 minute ride.

We have a horse mad 12 yr old so when we go away we always try and get her some kind of riding in and we looked at Nelly's Ranch before leaving the UK. We booked her in for the 2 hour ride along the beach and forest and she had an amazing time. The owner is very helpful and made sure she explained what she would be doing. The cost i felt was very reasonable at €40 and although she was the only English one on that particular ride my daughter came back so happy she thoroughly enjoyed it. The place is well run and you can see that the horses are very well looked after. Would definitely recommend a visit.

Great for novice riders and not too expensive. Book in advance if you want to do this. We had a few problems booking (language barrier which was our issue, not theirs). My teenager took a 1.5 hour beach/forest trek and after getting over her nerves she loved it. My 7 year old did a lead beach walk and couldn't stop smiling. Generally helpful staff.

Nelly's Ranch is set in the woods, with an old school bus as the reception area - straight away it comes across as a quirky and friendly place. The horses were in fantastic condition and well cared for, which immediately put us at ease. I am an experienced rider, however my partner is not, so we opted for the Level 1 ride which is 2 hours walk and trot in the forest and on the beach. We were given our horses and my boyfriend was given a whistle-stop tour of how to go, stop and turn! I think if you are an inexperienced rider, this may be a bit daunting if you don't have a more experienced friend with you. The ride was lovely and through beautiful countryside and then onto the beach. Highly recommended and we will be returning!
