As you enter MSM there the Poste Office is situated on the left. It provides a convenient spot to drop off letters and postcards was well as an ATM on the outside wall.

Lovely to be able to send an old fashioned postcard to family from this wonderful place. There were a few people when I went in the Fall, so it was not crowded.

Mont st Michel is an absolute must when visiting Normandy. It is easy to find and there is plenty of parking with shuttle buses conveying visitors to the pedestrian bridge over to the island.Take time to walk up through the streets and around the island .There are wonderful photo opportunities and the architecture is very interesting. We visited early in the morning and after a good walk we settled into one of the many restaurants for an al fresco lunch with a glorious view looking up at the cathedral.

Situated on the lower entrance level to Mont St. Michel the local Post Office is a charming and friendly spot. Helpful staff and a nice selection of stamps allows you to pick just the special one for family or friends back home. And the franking states Mont St. Michel. A nice touch...

Lovely rural and historic villages in the nearby area, with many very reasonable rental "Gites" (cottages); we were living like the very modern natives. Beautiful scenery and friendly people. At Mont St.Michelle we were lucky enough to have the renovated rooms w/large balconies w/table & chairs (booked early) at La Vieille Auberge.. Following the travel advice to go late and leave early, midweek, we missed the midday crowd of tourists. The views were stunning, especially the tidal pools and the sunrise. Interestingly the tide didn't change (a rare occurrence) the day we were there. Walking to the top of Mont St Michelle took me only about 20 minutes at a senior pace-no where near as hard as I expected.

Send the postcards from here as it is at the end of your visit and the staff are nice. I especially like the old sign that is hanging above it.

Again, the post office staff there were very helpful and ready to facilitate whatever you asked of their post office related questions. We bought the 75th D-Day Anniversary Sheet of Stamps there and a small (metal) toy French Postal Service Golf Cart there. A memento and collectors item. It appears this post office is one of the very few office that sells it. If you are visiting, make sure you stop there and get one for your collection, if interested. GREAT experience!!!
