The Gabriel tower is part of the ramparts left from the main entrance. It's in the lower level of St, Michel complex, so it's just a quick photo stop.
For fantastic views head straight up to the Nord tower (read that review).

One of numerous towers on Mont-Saint-Michel, located to the left of the main entrance, it was built in 1524 as part of the defense for the storerooms. It later had a windmill installed and even later still, a beacon to help navigate the Couresnon River.

This tower seems to have been the stronghold at the end of the battlements. I walked past initially to find the small chapel around the back of the island. Cool to look at, it also has a ramp that leads down to the water. You can climb up some rocks to the ramp and suddenly you have a back door into the island itself, bypassing the throng on the main commercialized Grand Rue.

As you stroll the fortified wall there are a series of tours worth exploring. They are best for picturesque seascapes and landscapes beyond.

This is a nice place to stop, take a break and enjoy the history and view. It affords a picturesque view of the tide and beaches around Mont St Michel. Notice the stone masonry and the strategic position of this tower. It's a place for a bit of quiet reflection as well since it's a bit of a way from the crowds.

Tour Gabriel is one of the some towers located in Mont-Saint-Michel, in Normandy, in the North of France. In fact, when you enter to the place, you can see it at left. It is very beautiful and round.

This is one of the numerous towers of Mont St Michel, but still worth a visit. Also take some time to look up the history of it, when and why it was built.

Well worth the visit and the effort getting to this site. On a clear day the views are excellent, especially when the tide's out.

This is certainly not one of my favorite attractions, I saw it more or less closely, it is a simple lookout tower located in a low area and outside of the fortress of Mont Saint Michel. From here you have a decent view, but nothing compared to the terrace at the top.
